a great price for a invaluable adaptor
My clients can have a wide range of audio gear, and this connector has been a real boon! Lots of consumer grade lav mics are TRRS terminated with the mic pin being the extra notch on the connector, and these WILL NOT WORK in TRS socketed Video Cameras. NOT AT ALL. This little adaptor allows your client to use the lav mic they know and love, and you can "invisibly" adapt it to your setup. The cable feels really thin and weak, but I have other SC3s that stood up to years of abuse, and they still work great!

Works perfect! Clear Audio with no noise for my video recording!
I like that this is a certified product being made obviously by rode. I have used previous brands in the past for my lav microphones to my a6500 and I also hear a little hiss in my video that I have to clean up in post. I do not have that issue with this adapter so it means a much quicker edit for clients and youtube! Well done RODE!

Good Good
It works absolutely brilliantly, so far I've had no issues with it. Connects perfectly! Superb built quality! Only downside for it is that I wish I didn't need it! Let me explain. I use this connector to connect the Rode Smart Lav + Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone for Smartphone mic to a recorder ( Zoom H1). I wish it worked without the adapter but it doesn't.... Not a biggie though.

Fit for purpose
This adapter cable has a fairly specific purpose - adapt a microphone designed for a smartphone TRRS jack (e.g. a SmartLav+, or other headset compatible microphones designed for smartphone use), into a TRS jack (more commonly seen in mic inputs on computers, audio recorders, cameras etc). It does that perfectly well. But, it's a bit pricey for what it is! It's well enough built - but the cable has with no additional protection (e.g. braiding), the connectors are plastic (which is fine, but not as durable as metal, say). You can be pretty sure that the QC is excellent, as is the case with all RØDE products, and this item is unlikely to be defective. But I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives available...

The best out of several "trrs" leads tried
I didn't expect to find much difference in an extension cable, but I've tried a few of these "trrs" style extensions and this was by far the best. This is expensive at nearly £20, but it does the job very well. There was noise introduced by many of these other leads, admittedly at a low level, but definitely audible (hum). This lead does not suffer the same issue. I cut open one of the "other" leads, and it was constructed correctly (properly shielded cable), but persumably the copper wasn't up-to-grade as it still performed badly. Not only does this lead perform well - it also is the the longest and the thinnest cable - making it much more practical to carry around.

Converts SmartLav Plus into Standard Lavelier Mic, excellent product.
Another great product from Rode, this converts the iPhone SmartLav Plus into a standard lav mic which can be used with any standard recording device and gives you 100% flexibility no matter what video or audio recording situation you find yourself in. I haven't yet tried it with a radio mic receiver but I am sure it will do the job there too. It is a well moulded, durable product that I expect to last a lifetime.

was looking for a more cost effective way of using lav mics and this product did not disappoint. I now have a killer lav mic set up (broadcast quality) using 3 of these connectors, along with 3 smartlav + mics and 2 zoom H1's and a ZOOM h2n All monitored with a 3 way Bluetooth transmitter and headphone set up !

It is made for the røde smartlav trrs lavalier mic. I can confirm it does not work with the trrs connector of the røde videomic ntg. Very odd…

A very nice product and of good quality too. Very useful for me while recording my Dj mixes live on phone..and because of its' cable length I can capture videos from different angles with my phone.

I bought this to use with my lav mic when I connect it to my go pro or Canon SLR. The lav mic cord was only about 1m long so I had to get the longer cord. Like all RODE stuff it works really really well. I used their stuff on my YouTube channel Fishtales with Tim. I totally recommend this product.
