Incredibly light pair of headphones
I am compelled to write this review having literally put these headphones on for the first time 10 minutes ago I've gone through a LOT of headphones in my life, and I can be quite picky when it comes to headphones but these straight out of the box feel great These are a very good pair of headphones, I can feel it already: the clarity of sound is amazing. The headphones fit nicely around the ear, blocking outside noise without the need for noise cancelling technology such as in Beats headphones. They are incredibly light in weight, I almost thought the box was empty. However, they don't feel cheap, the build quality is good, the cable is strong, all in all very impressed. I feel like these headphones are going to be really comfortable to wear for long periods of time, I can barely feel them on my head as I write this review. Really impressed with these, first impressions are very good, like I said the sound clarity is really, really good, not too bass heavy, just all round feel like a very expensive pair of headphones, worth more than the price I paid, so very happy with this purchase. I have to give these 5 stars especially considering the price. You might be able to find a better pair out there for £500 but these are a 10th of the price so deserve the top rating

Very very good sounding headphones. Superb for the price.
I am very particular when it comes to sound quality, wanting tight bass, controlled treble and natural mid tones. Basically reference sounds from speakers and headphones that are rich yet natural, with the minimum of colouration. But of course these things can come at great cost, in fact the sky is the limit for the audiophile. So what of these "cans"? Well my previous wired headphones, as opposed to the very popular wireless Bluetooth headphones (to which I have two very good pairs I might add), the leatherette had broken up and the foams are starting to breakdown, after 5 years. It was time to decide just to get new cushions for the Sony's or bite the bullet and get a new set of wired headphones, and wired was important. But which Brand? Well I liked my Sony's but at times the wire was too short. Beats? No thank you, I have tried them and they are (for me) bass heavy and flabby at that. I am sure some like the sound from them, but not me. Personally I think you are paying a lot for the name, when there are better options at a lower price. No, lets investigate. The sound is very natural. Well pitched mid range, a lovely tight, rich bass, no muddyness here, and clear trebles. Various sources were used, from CD's to Spotify and you tube etc. Not tried them on vinyl yet. One thing to beware of though it the quality of the source, On a couple of reproduction songs the treble sounded a bit too zingy. Not the fault of the headphones, but the source itself. Try with a good source and they shine. Example track is the very demanding "March of the Celts" by Enya, at 1 min 46 Seconds. There is is a bass note that demands perfect reproduction, and these shine with it. Not perfect but oh so close. Another track I played the quality was that good, you could hear the hand of the pianist hit the piano, something I have not heard before. There will be better headphones out there, but from a cost point of view these get very close to perfection, nay, these have a sound quality of cans many times the cost. If you want exceptional headphones and you are are on a budget, you really should consider these. They really are that good.

Great value monitors with a clear, flat sound
The Audio-Technica M30x headphones are great for mixing and general monitoring, especially for the price. The sound is fairly flat and balanced, which makes it easy to hear details in a mix without anything being overly boosted. They've been helpful for picking out small issues that might get lost on more consumer-tuned headphones. For a relatively affordable set of monitor headphones, the quality is solid and they perform exactly as expected. They may not be the most premium option out there, but for home studios or anyone looking for accurate sound on a budget, they're a very good choice.

These are really nice. Really, really nice. I was looking for new headphones, as my rather elderly Koss UR-27's had finally broken down. (No slight against Koss, they make great headphones too.) But I'm an audiophile on a budget, so i wanted the best headphones I could find, for under $100. These fit the bill for me. Very light, the earpieces are angled slightly to fit over my ears quite comfortably, the cushions are soft but supportive. The closed back keeps out a great deal of outside noise, though I have yet to try them on an airplane. The M30X is tuned to enhance mid-range sound, so voice, as well as woodwinds, sound rich and full, with great clarity. The sound is well balanced in the highs and lows as well. Keep in mind that your phone or MP3 player will not provide much power, so the bass end is going to suck no matter what headphone you use. i use these primarily with my laptop, but also on the stereo receiver, where they really shine. Really well-balanced sound, plenty of bass with no distortion; I'm primarily an indie-rock girl, but I also listen to choral music, a bit of jazz here and there, some Bach, some Beethoven, some Berlioz, etc. I've been hearing things in my music I hadn't really heard before, which is really fun. I can make out David Bowie's baritone part in TV on the Radio's song 'Province' very clearly now, for instance. I encourage you to go to Audio-Technica's website, they've got a lot of information there about all their products, and you can ask questions on the discussion board; I found looking through other people's discussions very helpful in making a decision. Pros: light, comfortable to wear, balanced sound with great clarity in the mid-range, they fold up for easy transport, a lot of bang for your buck for sub-$100 headphones, long cord, carrying bag Cons: I haven't really found any yet. I was initially concerned about the exposed wire that runs along the expanding part of the headband, but they seem to have been twisted and set in such a way that they can't get caught in the expander. I do have small ears, so I imagine that if you have exceptionally large ears, you may find these don't fit comfortably around them All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase. I may decide to pick up some Koss UR-40's at some point, just to have some variety, or maybe one of Audio-Technica's numerous models of open-back headphones. I'm quite impressed with the quality of these, I think you will be too. Cheers!
