Great for hard-water areas
This is a fantastic water filter, It Is very easy to use & Is good value for money as you not only get an XL Jug but also a free maxtra+ filter too. The water doesn't leak out while pouring as the lid is very firm but at the same time easy to open for cleaning, It also has a filter cage on the top of the lid so you know when to replace your Maxtra+. This Brita Jug Xl holds a good amount of water so you're not constantly having to top up as with previous smaller one and not only is this nice to have fresh drinking non-chlorine free water but it seems to get the kids to drink more too :) Our water has now lost the Awful metallic taste and chlorine smell, I now don't need to boil my water beforehand to add it to my cooking, I have also been having the best tasting scum free cups of tea :) Would highly recommend anyone to purchase one especially if they live in an extremely hard water area as I do.

Outstanding Customer Service
I've been using the BRITA Marella XL water filter jug for over a year, and it has been fantastic in reducing chlorine, limescale, and other impurities from my water. Recently, the bottom of the jug got broken, and I reached out to the BRITA team. I am incredibly impressed with their customer service—they promptly sent me a full replacement jug along with a new filter at no cost! The process was hassle-free, and their dedication to customer satisfaction is commendable. I highly recommend BRITA products not only for their quality but also for their exceptional service.

Sturdy and reasonably sized water filter jug
Marella XL water jug is a bigger water jug that can hold 2.4 litres of filtered water and 3.5 litres in total which should last you a day as it is recommended to drink 8 glasses a water per day. We use the water for cooking and kettles as well as for drinking, however, I wouldn't recommend using it for iron, it definitely helps to reduce limescale but for iron, I would always go for deionised or distilled water. The jug looks nice and is sturdy, however, the lid flaps feel flimsy and if hit they could easily break. The handle is sturdy and comfortable but it is positioned in such a way that if the jug is full it is hard to hold it. I have tested the throughput of the cartridges and found that it takes approximately 6 minutes to filter one litre of water. I have found the filters to be very good at removal of chlorine from tap water which is by far my main reason why I didn't drink tap water as the taste did bother me. By bringing both filtered and unfiltered water under the light there is a visible difference in the number of particles in the water, the filtered water had none floating about (these are not dangerous). I conducted a blind test to verify if the taste of the filtered water was truly better at least to me personally and I have found that in 90 per cent of cases it did. However, from time to time the water did taste sweet to me. I used to buy bottled water which can rack up expenses and it does create unnecessary plastic waste I felt guilty for, now I can enjoy the water at home with great taste and fewer contaminants but also at a much cheaper price per litre. Overall, I would recommend this product as it is trusted by many and provides a great solution to picky taste buds.

It's a great water filter!
Just bought the Brita Water Filter. It's a great water filter. First I washed the jug and inside jug. Then filled the water jug twice and discarded the water. It takes about 5 minutes to filter a decent amount of water. The pictures are the 3rd round where the water was good to drink. It tastes ok. Better than tap water. But I say that because I've been drinking bottled mineral water lately. This is definitely better than drinking tap water. The water tastes cleaner. Things to keep in mind: 1) Wash the 2 jugs before use. 2) You have to fill the water jug twice before drinking and discard the water. The water is ready to drink on the third round. 3) The part which opens to pour the water in from the tap opens slightly so you have to press down and pull it all the way back to open it so you can pour the water in. 4) On the third fill, you can start the Brita Smart Light on the lid. To do this - press down the button that says "Start" and hold for a few seconds. All the bars will flash on the indicator. Release after a few seconds. The Smart Light then starts tracking the time for the water filter so you know when to replace it. The instructions say every 4 weeks but the Start indicator can help too. Ok hope this helps. Enjoy your water filter and drinking clean water 🙂

More useful than my ex-husband 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve been using Brita for over 13 years now and this is my third jug, second of this kind. My first one was a slim refrigerator jug when I was single. Now with a family of 5, this jug is very practical and reliable and economical. I would and have recommended this to my family and friends, used it as a gift for my family and friends. My last jug lasted me for almost 10 years (longer than my marriage), as long as you give it a good TLC, clean it on a regular basis, no need for abrasive chemicals, just your regular sponge and washing up liquid. I got a bit emotional discarding my old one. I even had my kids say thank you and good bye to it. Now I’m crying all over again 😭😭😭

Does what it says in the box
Always used Brita water jugs as live in a hard water area Bought this on sale so paid a decent price. XL is the larger jug. Hold 2.4l of water so less need to refill. The standard jug is made to fit in fridge doors but not good for families or if you drink a lot of water Cartridges are easy to use jus drop in. Filters water quite quickly too Lid is a bit of a headache at times. Has the top flap stuck open so has to remove the whole lid so it shuts flush. Also taking off the top to charge cartridges is a bit of a headache too. But it is a tight fit so no leaking so that counters the awkwardness of removing the lid Limited range of colours but the dark blue goes well with my kitchen. As I have black work tops

It's great!
So, I have just moved house and bought a new glass belly kettle. Within 2 days the bottom was caked in limescale... So I bought this Britta Filter! A few days later the limesacle had dissapeared from the kettle and looks great! Water tastes great! tea and coffe taste great... As a AVID tea and coffee drinker.. I swear my teeth are whiter too... but who knows... In my house hold we go through 2 jugs a day! Fill it up, and once it has filtered, you can fill it up again! The LCD "timer" on the top is in no way linked to the actual filter... You just loose a bar once a week... So Using the glass kettle as a guide.. after about 2 weeks the limescale starts to appear again! albeit VERY slowly compared to before! But change the filter when it appears.. and within a day it is gone again! So for me and my usage.. I replace the filter every 2 weeks! I buy a pack for 6 for £20something and thats a 3 month supply! perfect! If you drink a LOT or water, tea, coffee etc... I would highly recomend this! I always thought of these filters as a gimick that don't really do anything! But WOW! was I happy to be wrong! these are truly amazing! money well spent!
