Just like I remember from the original, I'm loving revisiting my childhood again.
Saw the kit at a nice price and remembered how I loved my old Hornet so went for it. The only problems I had was the import cost which I had to pay extra when I collected it from the postal depot, and the kit not coming with a speed controller. Building my new kit was as easy as I'd hopped and the excellent quality hasn't changed in over 20 years. There may be modern cars out there but the old ones are still great. Young and old will love it, if you had a Hornet before you'll remember how good it was, if you hadn't you'll enjoy it just the same. Real fun on wheels.

The Hornet
This product is good quality and value for money, i enjoyed building it and now enjoying driving it. The parts are good quality and the instruction manual is easy to use and read. When built it is fast and also great at driving offroad. I just love it.

This is a good model to build. The instructions are awful and there is no parts list so you won’t ever know you have everything until you don’t have something. The kit is not complete and doesn’t come with a battery, remote control or motor so buyers beware that the kit to complete costs more than the actual car itself. I’m very disappointed as this will be a very expensive project in the end and I may not even finish it at all purely down to cost factor which was not advertised when I purchased. Also the quality of the plastics are questionable so if you get the wrong screw in you’ll have pretty much wrecked where it’s meant to go (thank you once again for not providing a parts list and causing damage)

and the best thing is being able to fix bits if it ...
Put this together with my 11 year old. He loves it, and the best thing is being able to fix bits if it gets a bashing

Brilliant Bonding experience for parents & 7-10 year olds.
Instructions aren't brilliant, but it's a really nice little 4-5 hours to build and paint and decorate this. I always wanted one, and I got one for my Son, we built it together and drive it together, he loves it so much (he's 5 years old - its too fast for him) and we discuss what we can do next, well worth the money - but please make sure you allow for: RC Receiver / transmitter ESC (if not included) Steering Servo 7.4V Battery + Charger PAINT (Black) which will add another £50-£70 to the build price.

Brilliant fun to drive and enjoyed building with my 10 year old son
Always wanted one as a kid, used to carry the Tamiya Catalogue with me everywhere I went in my school bag but Santa never delivered that much wanted gift! It has not disappointed and has been great to build and drive with my son. It looks daunting at first but it is easy to put together. My tip would be to go for 3300 Mah batteries and a fast charger as last a lot longer than the standard batteries. this is a reissue of an 80's design and RC cars have moved on there are cheaper more modern offerings available but for pure fun and nostalgia this is hard to beat.

This thing is a hoot if you're looking to relive some 1980's remote control car memories. Because it's a re-release of a vintage car, don't expect modern behaviour in terms of the way the car handles. It does bounce around a bit but honestly that's part of the fun - it's a little bit 'wild'! Paired with a Flysky GT3b transmitter and receiver, Futaba S3003 servo, and a Hobbywing 1060 ESC it runs very well. I was a bit surprised how explosive the speed was the first time I started driving. I put the ball bearing kit in as well (I would recommend this, the stock 'bearings' are just nylon discs). Really nice kit, detailed instructions. It would be great if it came with an ESC, but since it is a Japan import it does not include the ESC. Build note : don't overtighten the screws that attach the plastic parts, just snug them up.

Davvero bella. Attenzione. Non è un giocattolo!

Tamiya is known for it's easy assembly and quality products. The Hornet is a classic for those who are into older RC cars, it's been around since the 80's. Great for a child or someone who is new to RC and wants a basic car to learn how everything works together in the RC cars. Be aware this is just for the car and motor. You will need: 1 Steering Servo - this controls the direction in which the car turns. 1 Electronic Speed Controller - this connected to the battery delivers power to car to make it run 1 Radio and Receiver - This is the hand held remote that you use to control the car and the receiver is what receives the signal from the remote. 1 or more Batteries -the power source for the car, depending on the type of plugs you use coming from the Electron Speed Control. Make sure the Electronic Speed Control can mate up to the battery properly and it can handle the power of the battery. If you're new to the hobby consult a local hobby shop to ensure you get the proper setup that is appropriate for the car. You'll also need some paint to paint the body as it's clear Lexan. ( wash the body with soap and water, let it dry and paint on the inside of the body to protect the paint from scratches ) A classic buggy that is fun to drive and is enjoyable to build. If you aren't sure consult a local hobby shop and learn about different brands and what they offer to see what suits your needs.
