So I have an older Philips home theater system from 2007, that still works great. Don't want to upgrade. However, I got a new TV, and still wanted to use the old theater setup. I really didn't think this product was going to work, I had thought I was going to have to try another 10 different things in order to get it to work with the new TV. But ! This was the most simple plug and play setup you can buy! As soon as I plugged everything in, all I had to do was switch the output on the TV settings, and that was it! Simple simple simple. Definitely worth the money.

used this on a TCL 40" to connect the optical to a Jensen headunit in an RV that only had stereo (left/right red/white) inputs. working great now, I have TV optical out to the Jensen unit attached to the front+rear speaker system.

Simple set-up and it works perfectly. You need a USB-A connection for power - my TV has one on the back - this item doesn't include a power converter.

I have the Sonos connect gen 2 for providing signal to house speakers and pool speakers via an amplifier. The amp does not have optical audio ins, only RCA (white and red). The RCA out on the Sonos connects failed, which they are known to do, rending the unit obsolete to connect RCA cables to a stereo or in this case an amplifier that pushes power to house and pool speakers. I purchased these to convert the optical audio out on the Sonos connect to red and white channel cables to connect to the amp. Please be aware that this product does not come with a power plug and you will need to connect to the USB power cable or plug into a surge protector that has usb 2.1 or 3 female receptical. The product worked perfectly and instead of buying new Sonos connect S2 (2 of them as first one failed a year ago), I was able to get the system up and running again using the optical audio out converted to RCA. Also please note that the PCM setting was fine on my application as I was not trying to carry 5.1 stereo or AC3 that may come from a TV optical audio out. If you are trying to get these audio features from a TV to a receiver or stereo, the seller clearly states it is incompatible. Not an issue for most applications IMHO.

I received my order on time, but the package was NOT left at the front door where the mailbox is located, it was left at the side door near the garage! Besides that, the product works as described and I get to use an old Bose sound system as a surround sound system with a TV in my Cozy Spot! Two 👍🏽 up!

Used to connect my smart TV to my hifi system to play the sound through. Had to tweak my tv settings as shown in the manual, but working fine and pleased with the quality.

This item was used to provide an optical out tv signal. The RCA leads (sockets) was connected to 2 x RCA leads (plugs) which was then terminated with a 3.5mm jack socket. This was connected to my pc speakers with sub-woofer. Will purchase a soundbar at a later date.
