Great watch at a hefty price tag
I have had two other smart watches but compared to an Apple watch, I have to re-classify them as dumb watches. This thing is really a pleasure to use and it has tons of functionality which other makes don't even come close to. I've been on the fence about getting one for a long time but I don't regret having had to sell a liver to get one of these. Battery life is so-so, you get a bit more than a day out of it. But it charges very fast so you just need to establish a routine on when to charge it daily. Can't say I need all the fancy sensors but the size had to be as big as possible for me which ruled out the SE. What I love: Answering messages on your watch Great calculator app Unlock phone or mac Siri is brilliant, no stupid "hey Siri" but just lift up your wrist and speak Workout apps and move tracking phenomenal Easy to use but I recommend to spend some time watching some online tutorials and maybe read the manual to make sure you take advantage of everything it has to offer. I am still finding useful perks and functions I had no idea about after a month Listen to audiobooks and music off line Watch faces are great and always on - animations on watch faces are over and above anything else for a watch Voice memos with a tap on your wrist - synchs to iCloud Tons of apps, some are quite useful. Everything smooth as silk

First Smart Watch, fantastic experience
As stated in the title, this is the first Smart Watch I've owned. Wanted one for years but never really decided to get one. Now, though, I genuinely wish I'd done this years ago. This thing is absolutely incredible. I've gained amazing insight into my sleep, general fitness and being able to quickly reply to a call or text from the wrist in a pinch is genuinely game changing. Apple Pay straight from the watch is extremely handy if your phone or card is buried in a bag or pocket under multiple layers. Battery life doesn't really compare to other smart watches but it's fine in it's own right. Mine lasts about a day and a half with moderate usage but might be a charge daily type deal for those that use the watch frequently. No complaints whatsoever, been nothing but happy with it. I was on the fence about putting another £100 towards getting the cellular version, and having used the GPS only version for a few weeks, I would say that I will be getting a cellular version in the future - the added utility of being able to use the watch without your phone nearby would absolutely be worth it. Having said that, for now, GPS only is doing the job for me and I'm totally chuffed with the device. It's easy to use, intuitive, practically everything syncs to and from your phone and the sheer number of watch faces available make it a great opportunity to wear the watch how you want to. The straps are easily changeable too so if you have separate straps for casual use, but would prefer a leather one for business meetings, and use a third strap dedicated to workouts, it's entirely possible with almost no effort required. Absolutely life changing, incredible device for productivity in just about every aspect of life. Easy 10/10.

Excellent watch
This is my first Apple Watch, so this review is from the perspective of a new wearer. I have waited a number of years before getting an Apple Watch, and finally decided to get one this year. It’s been an interesting few days learning how to use it, and I am still constantly searching online for advice on how to change settings etc. It’s not really intuitive on how to do things without looking it up. For example to lock the watch face when your using it for workouts you need to click the “water drop” icon, who in their right mind would think this would lock it… That is more an issue with any model of Apple Watch running the latest OS, rather than just this one. The features work perfectly, and i now know unfit I am. Everything opens instantly without any sort of delay. The always on display works perfectly, and it quickly takes all the readings you need. When running the GPS is excellent and provides an accurate map. The battery comfortably lasts a full day. I charge it for about 30 minutes before bed, and again for about 45 minutes in the morning. The straps are good quality. There are two sizes within the box In order to get the best fit, and easily washable. I am extremely happy from the perspective of a new wearer.

Great if you’re upgrading from series 5 or below.
As you’d expect, the Apple Watch 8 is a fantastic device and a delight to use. It has a really bright screen that can easily be viewed in bright sunlight. The fitness tracking is top notch and addictive, get those rings filled! The third party apps and complications add a wealth of abilities and functionality. Sleep tracking seems pretty accurate, I like the bedtime mode that helps you wind down and wakes you with a gentle tapping on the wrist. As always with Apple Watches, the main complaint is battery life. I easily get a full day of heavy use out of it, including sleep tracking. I charge in the morning from about 20% and with the fast charge ability it’s full within an hour. I think it’s fair to say the series 8 is not much of an update over the previous couple of generations so it’s probably only worth an upgrade if you have the series 5 or lower. All in all it’s a great device and I love it!

Great smart watch
Not worth the upgrade if you’ve already got an Apple Watch, unless you specifically have a health issue where you need to monitor your blood O2 level. If you don’t already have one, or if you need to replace one, this is great, and the price is good too. It is water resistant to 50m, has an always-on display, is great for fitness tracking and health monitoring, and allows you to check incoming messages etc. without having to get your phone out. The battery lasts all day, so it’s fine if you take it off at bed time, however, because it only lasts 1 day, completely useless as a sleep tracker. Overall, you get a lot for your money, and it’s really useful.
