Just what was needed. For some reason I had issues stripping the covering off to get to the wires below, but that may just be me. Looks nice as well.

You'll never find flex that really looks like the old stuff (yes I do remember it well) but which meets modern safety standards. But this is very close in appearance, although black rather than brown as was often then the case back in the day. The only real negative: because the individual cores are pvc-clad (hidden by the braiding) they are not as flexible as the rubber (or even silk) in the old days and it's difficult to get all the kinks out - a heat gun will help once you've got it where you want it. I use it with a couple of Vintage Industrial Hanging Lights I bought from amazon a few years ago (may not still be available, sadly) and it looks the business, so much better than the flex they come with. Great value for this quantity, too.

The cable was not has described so we had to improvise. We dad to buy weights because the cable was rolled up when we got it it wouldn't lie straight other than that it was ok

I bought this to rewire several vintage/antique lamps that I’ve acquired over the years. This cord looks great, and fits the aesthetic without breaking the bank. When using this cord to rewire, be sure to keep a very sharp blade and a good set of wire strippers, as the woven exterior can be difficult to cut fully with wire cutters and is prone to unraveling. I suggest scoring (pre-cutting) the outer layer with an exacto knife or box cutter.
