Accusize 3011-5051 2-24" Inside Micrometers Set, 0.001" Increments

I wanted to review this set of inside mics because they're reasonably priced and seem to work well. I have been machining for a year and need/wanted a set of inside mics for measuring bores that are too large to measure well with my telescoping gages and outside mics. I picked these up on sale for 155$ I think. For me, they were worth the money and I would recommend them to others for that need a starter set of mics or only need them occasionally. I have had the mics for a month now and used them on several different jobs. I felt like they were worth reviewing because they work well and I hope other people can save some money by buying this set as well. Pros in no particular order: Nice weight in hand Scale measured accurately out of box Comes with standard! A lot don't Smooth action with good resistance so you don't accidentally change your measurement LOW PRICE, $150 compared to ~$400 for skinny rod Starret Locking knob so you don't change your measurement Cons: Not super robust construction like Starret. Box is a bit meh No support/replacement plan like you might get from big name brands. I don't go by the scale on the side but always check my measurements with these mics with my OD mics that are calibrated. These are usually spot on. I have checked my measurements with these with the CMM at work and I seem to be close. Tightest tolerances we run is usually +/- .0005 and these work for me to hit those tolerances. Tldr: cheap, work well, good feel.

Excellent for what I do. I'm a welder not a machinist so in the hands of a person of that trade it may be different. The numbers I get always match the machinists' paper work. Really wished I'd bought this sooner! It's got a nice case and all the pieces fit in the wholes nicely. Very simple to use too! The pieces are thick maybe over half an inch wide and are heavy. I use these inside bores over 6 inches and holds up to be knocked around welds and 500 degrees and more haven't affected the sets adapters so it's a sturdy set. Well worth what I paid.

This is one of my favorite brands. The price is good and so is quality. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE ONLY ACCURATE WITHIN 0.001. I NEED SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE ACCURATE

Works as expected. Case keeps things in place. Easy to use and as accurate as husband needs it to be. He says the angle of the measurement of tips is a little too flat for some of his use. But he can use it for most applications.

Most double check an inside micrometer w/ an outside micrometer. I was impressed with its accuracy.
