Seiko 5 skx Automatic reinterpretation Batman Blueberry Sporty Style SSK003K1

Bought this Seiko 5 GMT watch for a daily wearer and give my other watch a rest. After doing much research, I decided to buy this watch, which is considered by many as the most value for money automatic GMT watch on the market right now. The movement is a reliable Seiko movement. The watch itself looks good. The bracelet is a jubilee style. It's well constructed out of quality materials. Just how Seiko build a watch of this quality, with all these features, like a GMT function, a Cyclops bubble over the date. Some water resistance too for £380? It's an absolute steal.

I have always loved Seiko as much as my Rolex and Brietling, Seiko has always been my everyday go to watch, so I thought it was time for a new one. Saw this one, researched the hell out of it and found a great price on Amazon. A lot of reviews said it was a large watch but I found it quite a bit smaller than the Breitling maybe because I'm a big bloke. The quality as always is exceptional and I love the 5 knuckle wristband one of Seiko's best. Going to Dubai soon so it will be on my wrist and see if lives up to it's reputation.

I really love the watch. Looks great but mine has the slight misalignment as can be seen in the pic but I can deal with it. Adds to the charm I suppose. It's not enough to make me return it. Fits nicely on the wrist and the jubilee bracelet is very comfortable with very little rattle when worn. I was worried it might be too blingey as I've watched loads of videos of the GMT but it's definitely not. The light reflects nicely when it hits the watch but not flashy when it doesn't. The friction bezel is firmer than I thought it would be which is definitely a good thing. The seller offered me a £25 partial refund due to the misalignment which I think was fair and definitely great customer service. I'm well pleased with it.

This is my first automatic watch and i love it. Great built quality and it has a really nice weight to it. Looks even better when the light catches the bezel. The luminous markers are really bright. I’ve owned this for nearly a month and it’s now my favourite it my collection. Probably the best automatic GMT for the money.

Been looking for a half decent GMT watch for my travels and they're either quartz or expensive. Enter Seiko, a new in house automatic GMT move t with excellent finishing. Haven't a bad word about this, it's perfect, I have seen reviews it's a bit thick (it really isn't) but as it's based in a dive watch it is designed to look like that. Great lume, great movement, great time keeping (I'm at +1 second a day) and finally great around watch that I'll be wearing a lot more than just on travels/business trips.

Basic box provided Reasonable watch and took advantage of a price reduction which then tempted me into purchase. Came with bracelet covers and tag Inspected under a loope and condition was as described - new. Unsure of water resistance (states 10b) but unusually does now have a locking crown. Reasonable look to it.

I’m really in to watches…. Realistic watches that is. This Seiko 5 GMT AUTOMATIC. Is fantastic. Yes really. It’s priced well, high quality too. If you have around £450 to spend on a watch…. This is the one. I understand the one I bought from Amazon was supplied by GB Watches in Glasgow, Scotland. I live in Cornwall. I ordered it fairly late in the evening and was with me a little after breakfast the next day. Well packed too. Fantastic watch … it will be, it’s a Seiko 😎

Kurzes Fazit zum Anfang, für alle die den Rest nicht lesen möchten: Was für eine großartige Uhr!!!! Nachdem ich die Uhr jetzt zwei Wochen habe, durchgehend trage und wahrlich begeistert bin, möchte ich ein paar Zeilen schreiben. Die Optik Optik und Verarbeitung sind Seikomäßig großartig. Natürlich ist die Optik der Uhr wie alles im Leben Geschmacksache, aber ich finde die Farbkombination sehr gelungen. Die beidseitig drehbare Lünette ohne Rastung gleitet wunderbar in ihrer Führung und verstellt sich nur sehr selten von allein. Die Farbgebung der Lünette reicht von schwarz in der oberen Hälfte, welche die Nacht darstellen soll, bis zu einem wunderbar vom Lichteinfall abhängigen blau in der unteren Hälfte der Lünette, welche dann logischerweise den Tag darstellt. Auch das Gehäuse ist optisch sehr gelungen. Die Flanken sind poliert und der Rest gebürstet. Krone auf 16:00 Uhr ist ein typisches Seikomerkmal und schützt den Handrücken. Als letztes möchte ich hier noch das Uhrenglas anführen. Leider kein Saphirglas, sondern nur ein gehärtetes Mineralglas. Na ja, man kann nicht alles haben. Die Maße Durchmesser mit Lünette: 41,5mm Gehäusehöhe: 13,5mm Bandbreite: 22mm Lug to Lug: 46mm Das Band Das Jubileeband trägt sich sehr angenehm und macht mit den teils gebürsteten, teils polierten Gliederteilen einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Das dieser jedoch täuscht, erschließt sich einem sofort beim Anblick der Schließe. Diese besteht aus dünnem Blech und sieht eher billig aus. Aber sie macht, was sie soll, sie schließt. Das Kürzen des Bandes ist aufgrund der Verwendung von Stiften ein wenig fummelig, geht aber so gerade noch. Schrauben wären hier definitiv eine bessere Lösung. In der soeben erwähnten Dünnblechschließe sind noch vier weitere Löcher für eine Mikroverstellung vorhanden. Das Werk Kommen wir nun zum wohl wichtigsten Bestandteil dieser Uhr, dem Werk. Im Inneren der SSK003 schlägt ein von Seiko wie üblich selbst hergestelltes 4r34 GMT-Kaliber. Da Seiko seine Uhrwerke selbst baut, könnte man es durchaus als Manufakturwerk bezeichnen. Aber lassen wir die Kirche mal im Dorf, der Begriff Manufakturwerk soll wohl eher auf die COCS-Zertifizierten Werke von Rolex und Co hinweisen. Seiko gibt die tägliche Gangabweichung mit -35 bis +45 Sekunden an. Diese Range, so man dann ein Werk erwischt, dass tatsächlich in diesen Grenzen arbeitet, wird wohl jeden Käufer förmlich zur Rücksendung der Uhr zwingen. Ich habe im Laufe der letzten beiden Wochen eine durchschnittliche Gangabweichung von -3 Sekunden gemessen. Dieser Wert ist wahrlich großartig und wird sonst nur von meinen wirklich teuren Uhren erreicht. Die angegebene Gangreserve von 41 Stunden wird mit einer nur geringen Abweichung erreicht. Die Schwingung von 6 Hz lässt den Sekundenzeiger mit nur ein wenig ruckartiger Bewegung über die Uhr gleiten. Aber mal ehrlich, who cares? Die Wasserdichtigkeit Kleines Manko der Uhr ist ihre Wasserdichtigkeit von nur 100 Metern. Nun mag sicher der ein oder andere denken “100 Meter sind dir zu wenig? Hast du geraucht?“. Ne, ich rauche nicht mehr, aber davon ab. Es geht hier sicher nicht um die Tauchtiefe. Die Krone ist nicht verschraubt oder abgedichtet und somit kann hier Wasser eindringen, wenn man den Arm beim Schwimmen oder Schnorcheln schnell gegen den Wasserwiederstand bewegt. Ich werde sie auf jeden Fall beim Schwimmen ablegen. Händewaschen ist natürlich kein Problem. Fazit Hier hat Seiko meines Erachtens einen Volltreffer gelandet. Knappe 400 Euro für eine GMT-Uhr mit solchen Spezifikationen? Mal abgesehen vom Glas ist diese Uhr echt der Hammer. Wenn es noch eine Pepsi geben sollte, wer weiß, ob ich die nicht auch haben möchte. Alles in allem kann ich nur sagen, wer eine günstige GMT-Uhr sucht, wird hier zu 100% fündig. 5 Sterne
