Wow. Great chess set. Pieces are very heavy - in a good way. They all look great. Board is good, it’s silicone so it folds away easily. Lovely carrying case. Yes it’s heavy but that’s a good thing.

Many thanks to A and A for this chess set. I wanted to leave a positive review as I am very happy with it. I wanted a tournament size chess set that packs away with a fold away silicone board and this is the one. But I also really wanted quality weighted pieces with stunning designs, the give aways are making sure they have a nice weight, matt finish, feel quality, and also the design of the chessmen, in particular the knight. I think this is probably as excellent a quality chess set you can get thats made of plastic. The next level would be spending a hundred or a couple hundred on a wooden carved premium chess set. I do not think thats needed though, as this classic staunton chess set is beautiful, and I especially like the knights, well designed and detailed, but not over the top. Reminds me a little of the 1972 chess world championship set. The carry bag is also nice quality and a helpful addition to the set. It is exactly as pictured, buy with confidence.

Really high quality travel chess set. The pieces are the perfect size for a 20" board and nice and weighty in the hand. The only possible criticism would be that the board is a little thin and the pieces do not slide on it (the rubbery surface means that you must lift them to move). I was fully expecting this, however, as I had researched silicone chess boards before purchase. I may buy a mousepad chess board in the near future but it really isn't essential. All in all a beautiful chess set that is easy to travel with and allows full size chess play wherever you are without the inconvenience of a wooden board or the curling edges of a vinyl board. For the money I don't think you could do better.

Very pleased with the pieces, which are well designed, weighted and assembled. The board is OK, good size and with ranks and files clearly labelled, though the white squares have a brownish tint, too early to say if this is stable. Being silicone it doesn't crease, but isn't perfectly flat. The carrying case is good quality but only just big enough: the board has to be quite tightly folded to fit. The included notes on play would be useful for beginners or people returning to the game after a long interval.

I have only used this once so far. I'm very impressed with the quality, the silicone mat folds nicely into the case and was perfectly flat and ready to use. The pieces are a nice size and weight and the case packages everything up nicely.

I'm a professional chess player, and this product definitely exceeded my expectations. The hard carrying case makes things really easy to travel. The pieces are heavy, well-designed and polished. Black pieces have their own black bag as so for white pieces with their white bag. The silicone chessboard is has the perfect size for good matches. If you want a good chess set that will last long, definitely worth it.

I was a bit anxious waiting for this set to arrive as a few buyers had had a problem or two. But I ordered and the set came the next day. It was well packaged, the set was boxed inside, the carry case is very nice (although I probably won't use it much), the vinyl board - bigger than I expected and more flexible and soft than the one my puppy chewed to a million bits - the pieces were in two plastic bags, there were two other felt bags, stickers, an instruction booklet, a postcard and a message from the company about being satisfied - if not, an invitation to contact them was offered. I checked each piece including the base and it all looked and felt great. I love the colours, the matt finish, the weight, the design, the feel - ahh so important! - and 2 extra Queens too. My goodness, I thought I wanted 4" but 3.75" is tournament size and perfect, I thought I wanted wood but they are very expensive (and I am new to this anyway) but I am so pleased with this set at the price. I am not disappointed!

Quality, heavy, perfectly moulded, large chess pieces! I don't do or usually trust reviews but this was such a good set I had to join in with the reviews. Yes, a good plastic set with an off white but nice black matt finish and a solid heavy feel. I was pleasantly surprised, not sure if £45 was a bit much for heat resistant polystyrene or whatever it claims to be. The pieces fit the board fine which is also a quality rubbery washable almost full size mat. I saw a review that compared this set to a very similar set and I'm glad I did. Great moulding, hardly visible seams with no bits catching if you get me. The Ideal set to take tournament sized travels with. If this set is what you think it is, then it's better! The pieces feel good enough to play with on a wooden board with the felt bottoms too. Lol it's hard to not make this sound made up, I now get all the other reviews! Enjoy.
