Great product so far!
I'm the wife of Caleb, but I'd like to write the review myself, as I use a rocker more often then my husband does. Durability: Good Rocking: Smooth and quiet Comfort: Great Price: Great Overall: Definitely a wonderful product! (Read below for full review) We bought this rocker to take place of the old family rocker that we've had in the family for 3 generations. We weren't looking for something too expensive, or made of solid wood that would last a lifetime, but something that would allow us to preserve the rocker we don't want to lose. Long story short, we have a 2 and a half year old, and very soon (I'm 38 weeks pregnant) an infant. My son that's 2 has a hard time falling asleep on his own, so he generally has one of us put him to sleep at night, or during his naps. It's hard to put him to sleep sitting in an old rocker that's falling apart and creaks badly due to the wood splitting, and I like gliding rocking chairs more for the fact that I've got relatively short legs that can't always reach the floor when rocking in a traditional rocking chair. I'm 5'3" and 170lbs to give you an idea of the weight being used on this rocking chair. We had received this rocking chair Tuesday 1/15/19 (I will be writing an updated review after a month, then a few months after purchase about how it's holding up) and got it together before my son's first morning nap. I got my son to sleep in less than 5 minutes rocking lightly in this chair, and was amazed it didn't creak or make any noise while rocking (or at least not audible for a tired little one to hear). The cushions are comfortable, and the material is very soft and I think durable. We did follow the other reviews to inspect every piece of wood before assembling (as we do nearly every product we order online), and test it with different people to check for wood splitting, or other broken pieces to make sure it was in good shape. The rocker came in quickly (less than 6 days), came in the color we wanted (white paint, dark grey cushions), and every piece was there and not broken in any way. After testing it for a couple days to see if the result was the same with my son (every nap, and right before bed), I could not imagine having anything else! My son every time for his naps, and going to bed at night, would fall asleep in less than 15 minutes! It was definitely more of a miracle for us as it usually takes us 30 minutes to an hour to get him to sleep. For those looking for a solid wood and extra durability on the chair, I would recommend looking at finding a carpenter to make you one, or find a local store that sells them, but I know for a fact that rocking chairs do not come cheap when they are made with more durable products. If you're looking for a rocking chair that will last you maybe a year or two, this one is perfect for the price. I've sat here and read review after reviews, both good and bad, old and new on this product and I understand the concerns people have about it, but mistakes can happen, especially with furniture. Not to be judgemental, but this rocking chair is definitely not made for those who are on the heavier end, I'd recommend a swivle rocking chair or a solid wood traditional rocking chair for those that are. Don't let these negative reviews fool you, this is a great product for the price, and so far have had no complaints about it, the ottoman, or the lumbar pillow (which these two were a huge plus for the price!) After about a month I'll post another review with how this product is holding up, and if it's still as I mentioned before. Update after 2 months of use: Even after using this rocker about 3 times a day with my 2 year old and my infant the rocker is amazing quality. Still rocks just as smooth as day one, still just as comfortable, and still just as sturdy. I would still buy this product again! Love it still!

This chair is beautiful and was VERY easy to put together
This chair is beautiful and was VERY easy to put together. Nothing was damaged. It arrived in perfect condition and all parts were accounted for including all hardware and an allen wrench. It literally took us less than 20 minutes to complete it. I can see how the holes in the arm rests would be difficult to match up to the bottom of the chair if you don't follow the directions carefully. The directions tell you not to tighten ANYTHING until you have the bolts all lined up, so align everything and get them started and then tighten them down. The fabric is beautiful. We chose the gray and white and it seems like this fabric would be very easy to clean. The cushions are soft and comfortable. I'm not sure where the reviews are coming from that state the cushions are hard. I mean, they aren't memory foam/ gel / etc, but they definitely match, if not surpass the price. The arm cushions are a big plus and are very comfy. I especially like the pockets in the side of the arm rests. The pockets aren't large, but could hold a couple TV remotes if needed. The back may be a bit short for taller people. I'm 5'2 and my head fits comfortably on the back with a couple inches to spare. My chair is silent while rocking. I do also find it odd that the ottoman has two seams. They may or may not be durable. If not, I still believe that this set is worth the price and I will happily just recover it. Update 2021: We have had this chair for 5 years now and itās still going strong. It turns out the ottoman is really durable. Ours has lasted this long with shoes on it. Some mild creaks while rocking at times, but I bet we could fix that with some WD40. Itās not bad enough to really worry about it. Itās a very good chair and Iām still so happy we bought it.

The most comfortable chair I have ever had.
I am 66 years old and bought this chair for myself. It is so comfortable that I hate to get out of it. It wasn't bad to put together, but look at the pictures carefully. The arms are left and right as you would sit in the chair, not as you are looking at the chair. I thought that they had been mislabeled at first. I put it together by myself in under an hour. I have put together a lot of furniture over the years, so I found this very easy to put together. I am looking forward to many years of knitting and using my computer in this chair. The comfort is far better than I even anticipated, it is really exceptional. I have a bad back, and this is the most comfortable chair I have ever had as far as support. I am only 5 feet tall, and this chair hits my lower back just right. There aren't many chairs out there for us short people. There is absolutely no noise and the gliding is so smooth on both the chair and the ottoman. I don't love the fabric, but this chair is made for nursing mothers with babies who spit up and have accidents. It is comfortable though. I am really pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this set.

Everything You Need to Know
1/26/24 edit: the armrest covers have snaps that hold them to the frame. They are annoyingly weak. My son kicks them off the snaps every night which causes the cushion to rotate and not cushion my arms. Minor draw back, but I hate it. In our house, the rocking chair is a staple in our sleep, reading, and relaxation routines for our son. So getting the right product is important! You want something safe, solid, and functional. This is overall a good chair. Below is everything I considered before purchasing, also including what I like and dislike about the chair. First, the pattern. 2/5 šµāš« I am not a fan. I didnāt realize there were white dots all over the chair. Normally I read reviews pretty heavily before purchasing, but I wasnāt very concerned about the pattern. Itās okay, not great. Just zoom in super close to figure out what pattern youāre getting. There is a solid gray as an option. The fabric also quite rough, almost like outdoor fabric. Itās a bit itchy on my skin. 2/5 for the one I picked but Iām sure other ones are nice. Material. 0/5 The fabric on the chair is polyester aka plastic derived from petroleum aka a byproduct of crude oil. I couldnāt find the chair material description anywhere (besides that it has a wood frame) on amazon. It wasnāt until the chair delivered that I read the tags. I really like the frame so at some point I will probably replace the cushions with an organic fabric and batting. Because polyester is synthetically made with chemicals, when it heats up, it can transfer those chemicals. For that reason, Iāll be keeping the chair out of the sun to avoid this until the cushions can be replaced. On a positive note, the chair is NOT flame retardant so you are avoiding those unnecessary chemicals!! The cushions (3/5) are also not great in terms of comfort, but itās not the most uncomfortable chair. I can sit in it for contact naps and be okay. I was just hoping for higher quality cushions. The bottom is firm, which is nice. But the back portion is literally fabric stuffed with polyurethane (also plastic derived) stuffing/batting. I was expected more of like a couch cushion. The seat and back cushion both tie to the back of the chair, unlike what is shown in the product picture. Just a small thing, but nothing to note. Rocking chair frame 5/5 š¤©. I LOVE the frame. Itās sturdy, glides silently, and is a beautiful design. Itās painted with non-toxic paint. I couldnāt find if itās greenguard, or non-voc paint so not positive on the purity. Overall 4/5 stars because of those few drawbacks. For the price, itās excellent. You wonāt find a chair any cheaper with organic fabric and stuffing. Weāve had it only a few days now, but if anything changes, Iāll be updating the review.

Exactly what I wanted
Firstly: The price is great. I went and found this chair in a retail store to try it out, since I had tried some other gliders that I really didn't like and the reviews are kind of mixed. I liked how tall the back was to rest my head against (some gliders are shorter) and it's comfy without being overly stuffed. It was $300 + tax in the store, with extra charge for delivery if you couldn't bring the HUGE box home yourself (this is a two-person box). I assembled this myself, at 39 weeks pregnant, in 15 minutes (17 if you count cutting the tags off the cushions). Follow the directions and don't tighten anything until you've gotten it all assembled, and you won't have to drill your own holes as previous commenters noted they did...Just hand-tighten the bolts to get everything in place. The glider and ottoman come assembled, so all you have to do is put on the back and armrests, then attach the cushions. My few gripes: There could have been more thought put into placement of the bolts. Especially on the arms, if they had been placed slightly further out you could spin the allen wrench without having to stop and reset it to avoid the posts. The cushions come with ENORMOUS safety tags on them. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Even the lumbar pillow. They could have just wrapped them in plastic in one bundle and included one safety tag..it also made it annoying to try and cut them off without damaging the cushions. Be careful when you cut them all of. The ottoman also comes wrapped in plastic...at least, the cushion part is. It is attached to the ottoman glider with the plastic in-BETWEEN the wood and cushion, which makes it a pain to try to get the plastic off. The location of the ties on the large cushions left me confused about where exactly they are supposed to be tied to the frame, either the spindles or the main frame...The ties are located directly in-between the two, I find that strange. All in all, it was easy to assemble and a great price..everything else I was considering was over $400. A few small gripes but perfect for relaxing in and rocking baby with my feet up.

Storkcraft makes it easy to return a faulty product
Purchased this rocker as a replacement for a Dutailer rocker that is 20+ years old and worn out. Sadly, Dutailer is out of business. During assembly, it became obvious that one of the arm rests would not fit properly. There is a hole drilled into the back to accept the armrest bracket, but it was drilled too low on one side. There is a customer support sheet inside the package that says, "Rather than returning the product to your retailer, please give our Customer Care team the opportunity to make things right - it's faster, easier, and entirely free of charge." Okay, so stuff happens and the drilling machine was off by about a 1/2" that day (the other arm rest fit perfectly), so I will try customer support. Tried contacting them via phone on Monday morning after 7 am PST. Voicemail said they were closed. Chat was off-line on their website, so I sent an email. Nothing for 24 hours. I tried the website again and was able to chat with a representative. She sent me an email with several requirements including providing the exact part number I needed, photos, and a proof of purchase. At the bottom is a note that their "regular process" takes 10-15 business days after they receive all this info. This may be a reliable, comfortable chair, but I will never know. The customer care experience was anything but "faster, easier ...". My expectation was that Stork Craft would apologize for the difficulty, tell me what parts were needed to fix the issue, and have them sent out that day or the next. It really seemed like it was on me to fix their issue. It is a pain to pack this back up and take it to the UPS store, but I don't want a chair that, out of the box, has faulty manufacturing with apathetic customer support.

Very nice for the price
Purchased for my daughter. It was very easy to put together and it is very comfortable. Love rocking my granddaughter in it.

Nice but cushions are not great
The chairs are nice, sturdy and easy to assemble. The cushions, however, are garbage. They are uncomfortable after sitting for any amount of time which is the reason for the 3 star rating. I would probably just leave the cushions off but the seat is not solid wood. It is a frame with serpentine springs covered by a piece of cloth.
