Open it away from you!
Great product--but beware! When opening, do NOT have the nozzle pointed towards you! The contents are extremely pressurized.

No idea if it works or not but keep trying
We have inherited a rather large pond from the previous owner and tried our best in the last year thanks to my OCDish skills (involving just about everything that depends on me) to improve the quality of our under a dozen very large koi carp fish and many dozens gold fish who are very active as soon as the temperature is over 25 degrees Celsius (78 Fahrenheit?) even in early April 2023 when we had such temperatures in USA briefly. I purchased this item after reading the reviews here and following the instructions but I did not notice any major changes. We keep our pond running year round (as the previous owner did) and purchased a de-icer (used briefly only when the ice is thick in winter time) plus 2 extra Aquascape aerators (the initial 2 purchased here were problematic, just like the de-icer, so replaced with 2 new ones) besides the basic tube aerator she used in the last 2 decades. I noticed the water is clearer only in very cold weather as I saw the depth of 3/4 feet pond briefly in winter time (when I was telling my fish 'I see you in the middle, you bugger'), but not ever since and despite using this product and the SAB cleaner when the weather is warm only, there are visible changes only towards the edges of the pond. We do not have algae as other people complain but with lots of trees around the pond, my OCDish skills are required as I clean the pump area every day (there is no skimmer) and thankfully all the leaves/flowers etc collect in the net protecting the pump (which I plan to clean every 2 months as opposed to the heavy nasty bio-falls in one of the waterfalls cleaned twice per year due to being so heavy and 'just yuck'). Another option would be to use the services of a pond guy who effectively gets rid of the water to put new water with no beneficial bacteria but you cannot do that yearly: asking for several thousands of USD for a few hours of work or very un-professional like the guy I found in the end so dropped this idea. There is no point of uploading pics/videos here as they seem to delay my reviews by several weeks: maybe I am too honest with my autistic spectrum tendencies but I think I am doing pretty good at maintaining a pond and a garden despite having never done this in my life while living in the capital cities of the world. You can only try to help the wildlife and environment. Update: I decided to start squirting a bit more than I used to and blimey, the water in the pond is clearer towards the edges where the water is only 1 foot deep. Towards the middle, the water is 3 or 4 feet deep in some areas and cannot see the bottom but can see the massive koi carp swimming underneath the water lilies leaves - last year we had only 2 water lilies opening only for a few hours in the middle of the day in June/July. Judging by the 40 leaves, probably this years we will be having more water lilies. I just have to have the eyes peeled to the pond, as if the planet stopped rotating.

I have a very small pond and this product has kept algae and scum away. Can’t get the pump on the bottle to work, so the product has to be poured into a measuring utensil.

Very good

It foams a little more than I would like when first added - but that was gone in a couple of days. It works well so I ordered a second bottle so I don't run out this summer.

Excellent pond treatment. Have been using for 12 summers now. Early loss of fish after winter in April two years in a row a mystery. Started adding Aquascape Pond Salt in Fall to help fish winterize properly: add electrolytes to water, increases thickness of fish coating protecting them from 9 possible parasites in the water. I highly recommend Aquascape products.

Not sure if formula or strength has changed since the previous time i purchased this but it seemed to take more to clear up the same pond as last year
