Surprisingly Solid Budget Lens — Exceeded Expectations
I wasn’t sure what to expect at this price point, but the affordability drew me in. I didn’t want to spend hundreds on a lens, and with Amazon Prime, there was no risk in giving it a try. After some initial testing, I’m genuinely surprised by the performance. The colors are a bit on the vibrant side, but that’s easily adjusted in-camera. Overall, I’m really satisfied—this lens has earned a spot in my bag. In my opinion, it’s well worth the cost and has exceeded my expectations.

Works great for retro content!
This thing rocks! I got it to put on my Nikon 5100 for some stylized content and it did NOT disappoint! If you're trying to make some cool retro videos in the 90's style, this will do it! The picture is super clear through this adapter and I've noticed zero image loss. It's great for a bunch of different projects and I've already gotten great use out of it! Usually a higher price means higher quality, but I am completely satisfied with this for the low cost! I used this for a little music video project with it all shot to look like a 90's video and it did not disappoint at all, it totally did exactly what I needed it to!

Destroys photo quality
I took this traveling with me because I thought I would be easier than carrying a wide angle lens on top of my zoom lens. How dumb I was! This is cheaply made and is a complete waste of money and resources! If you want a wide angle, get a wide angle lens. If you don’t have the money, then just don’t get one. But whatever you do, don’t get this thinking it will be a makeshift wide angle!

49mm size has 82mm filter threads
Get vignetting, significant barrel distortion on wide end of zv1 zoom range. Zoom multiplier is no joke, this really does hugely widen the field of view. It's physically larger than I expected (not a problem, just surprising). Won't work for my application as my lens stops down when I zoom to eliminate the vignetting, but it could be a powerful tool with the right application. A little more "stuff" in the glass/coatings than I would prefer, but that's to be expected - it's not $1000+ glass, so bargain results are okay with the bargain price. Update - I just couldn't not try at this price, so I disassembled the macro section, 3d printed a spacer to push the macro element closer to the wide element, and reassembled it. Still have pretty serious barrel distortion, and have to run my zv1 with active stabilization for it to crop in and hide then lens in the corners, but it looks like it'll work! I'll add a video later. My install is using a tiny rig setup with a smallrig mini matte box mounted to the rig holding the lens floating in front of the zv-1. The camera lens is inserted into this lens close to the rear surface of the glass element.

Honest review
First, lets talk about size and weight. - This lens adapter is heavy, a good sign to know that you're holding a solid piece of glass in your hand, with 58mm thread to attach to your lens and the open end is 82mm. Overall, good feel, heafty but not in a bad way. Second, Imagne quality. - This adapter provides the same amount of details to the naked eyes as if itsnt attached to the lens so that's a huge win. Thirdly, Auto focus. - The auto focus does not function properly with this adapter, the camera (Canon EOS R) struggles to focus unless you choose a closer object to focus on, then re focus on the other objects you chose to take a photo of. This could be the result of a thick glass that's not native to the lens so when the lens send the signal to the camera, it got confused. A little annoying but for my use, no problem. Lastly, Price -I bought a used (almost new) item for 20 bucks. To be honest, it cannot be cheaper or I wouldnt buy it. For the amount of material alone, it should cost more than that. 4/5 final rating.

For what it is it’s great. I would never use it for photography unless I was going to a styled look. Great for cameras using the nifty fifty without a full frame sensor
