We were using Victor, which the dogs liked and did well on, and it sure was a bargain, until I discovered they removed the montmorillonite clay from the recipe without disclosing it. Charlie has a slightly sensitive stomach and I felt the clay was a good addition for him. I went searching for another brand with the clay and found Instinct Be Natural. Truth be told we tried this food, in the chicken flavor, when we first adopted the dogs two years ago and Charlie had some issues. I've since figured out he has a chicken allergy or intolerance so I bought salmon this time. Both dogs are doing great on the food and they LOVE the salmon (fish breath aside, ahem.) And while I thought their coats were good on the old food, they're puppy-soft now. Price is reasonable considering quality, and kcal/cup is quite high so I'm feeding a bit less. Still spending more than we did on Victor, but worth it I feel.

Buen producto ya no lo compré por qué mi perrita es atopica y no le ayuda pero lo comió un tiempo y le encantaba. Además de que me fue muy difícil ya encontrar el de salmón q era el q comía.

After my friend recently lost his second dog (too young) to heart disease his veterinarian mentioned it ‘could’ have something to do with a diet lacking important ingredients like Taurine, an amino acid that can cause heart disease. I went to Google reading, discovering and searching for a different dog food and came upon this one, Instinct. I have the same breed of dog and felt it important to understand more about what my dogs need. My veterinarian said early canine heart disease can result from lack of an amino acid called Taurine. There’s a lot of interesting information about this which has me questioning whether or not I should keep my dogs on a strict grain-free food diet and since my dogs tolerate grains just fine I’m opting in for grains. It wasn’t easy to find a non-grain free dog food!! So far this one fits us great, my dogs love it and I feel better after doing research. And, I’ve started feeding my dogs vegetables for treats - they are loving all the new options!

my boxer mix lost hair behind her ears when she had ringworm as a puppy and it just never came back. I noticed last year the hair loss seemed to be spreading almost giving her a mohawk of hair vs no hair :( The vet didn't seem to find anything particularly wrong, her ears were a little red. also, as is more common in boxers she had head tremors around a year old. I did a lot of research and realized that high protein diets can cause a blockage in absorbing magnesium which can lead to head tremors. so, I started making her food and did so for 1.5 years. we've tried a couple other foods but this is the first one that I've found that doesn't have a needlessly high protein ratio and isn't filled with fillers. plenty of protein for her to handle 20 miles a week running - she's a beast! :)
