I used these for the upper and bottom rails they make the curtains windproof without worries of the curtain falling off. as for asking about "sheerness" they are metal not sheer at all.

Young children pull on the drapes, broke original. Need more to replace others.

Just what I needed

I have a long rod over my sliding doors that only came with two supports. Needless to say, it sags. These were easy to thread the rod through and connect to the wall for additional support. Now I don't feel like it'll fall on my head when I go out the door. I like the color match as well. Works great for me.
