Luxurious Texture & Rich Color – A Dream to Work With
This 100% navy blue wool yarn is absolutely stunning—everything I hoped for and more! The color is a deep, rich navy that looks even better in person—classic, elegant, and super versatile for all kinds of projects. Whether you're making garments, accessories, or home decor, this shade just works. The yarn itself is high quality, with a soft but substantial feel. It's warm, breathable, and has just the right amount of stretch. No splitting, no fuzzing, and it glides smoothly on the hook or needles. I used it to knit a hat and scarf set, and the stitch definition came out crisp and beautiful. What I love: -100% wool – natural, warm, and durable -Consistent thickness – perfect for clean, professional-looking results -Colorfast & vibrant – even after washing, no fading -Ideal for both beginner and advanced fiber artists

The one time I need a yarn to fray I try this yarn, which absolutely refuses to fray
If you need yarn that frays, look elsewhere. Seriously, if you want a warm, soft yarn that can stand up to an excess of abuse, then this is a fabulous option. The price is great. The quality is great. It’s sturdier than it has a right to be. Most of the time, that’s perfect. It’s perfect if you’re learning to knit, crochet or weave. Incidentally, it’s sturdy and doesn’t stretch much under pressure so weaving would be a fine application for this. It’s perfect if you already now how to do any of the above and are working on a project. It’s a minor pain if you want to do a felted join for these but weaving in ends is a viable alternative there. It’s a massive pain if you’re trying to learn nalbinding, where you need to do a felted join every two yards and the thing won’t feather, won’t fray, won’t do anything akin to splitting apart without a major fight. I have been abusing two yards of this yarn for about a week, topping two hours a day, messing up a starting Oslo chain, then working it back (you can’t just rip out stitches in nalbinding, you have to work back each loop one at a time). I would have worn most yarn to a frazzle by now, but this is holding up better than I could have expected. I gave up trying to fray the end well enough it looked like it could do a felted join by hand and ended up using a comb on it.

Good quality wool.
Knitted my boyfriend a nice warm sweater for his birthday. He's 6'2". I used just under 10 skeins. Nice amount of wool yarn for the price.

Nice yarn with a good hand
The color is good. This wool is not superwash so it's a bit rougher, however, it is still softer than most wool. I also like that there were no breaks in any of the skeins. Knits well and makes a nice garment.

Blue wool afghan
This yarn is highly under rated. It’s gorgeous, warm and yummy but not too heavy. Perfect colonial blue color.

Love this yarn
I love wool yarn. I am a highly experienced knitter and a decent crocheter. I am finicky about the yarn I use because if I spend a ton of time making an item, I want it to look and feel great. I purchased this yarn to crochet doilies. I wanted a solid yarn that held shape and showed the stitches, and this fit the bill. I used low-grade wool yarn many years ago and do my best to avoid it because it splinters and breaks easily. Patton's wool yarn is high quality, so this never happens. If I knit a sweater using this yarn, it would be an Irish fisherman's sweater. It has the appropriate, slightly stiffer drape. Paton's Classic Wool Yarn is one of my favorite wool yarns. It is the cheapest wool yarn I will use for my knitted and crocheted items. I am a yarn snob, afterall!

Knitting a circular shawl. May have to change to larger needle size. Very good yarn - does not split easily . Generous yardage.
