Good size, nice having split top
We use this at our off grid cabin. This is the second unit (different brands) that we have used. They are basically the same other than this unit has two compartments and two lids. The unit says that one side can be used for freezer and the other for refrigerator. That’s kind of true- the cooling system gets one side colder because the coils are at that end. But if you set the freezer end to 20 degrees and the other end to 45 its just going to try to keep it close- if the freezer part got to 20 the refrigerator would be in the 30’s. And if it tries to keep refrigerator area at 45 the other end will be in the 30’s.But you can get one end at30and the other at 40 so it does work just not at extremes. The door can be swapped to open from opposite side, but the controller is L&R and you have to do the mental switch when programming temperature. It has a compartment for a battery and a plug port for a solar panel but I have not found them offered yetIt has an economy mode and I think it does work well. I cool on normal mode to get it to set temperature and then switch to eco mode to maintain temperature

Works well, after figuring
I used this on a 3 month excursion across country. It worked well, but I had to figure out some stuff. I initially had it set on max while plugged in, realized that and set it to Eco while on battery.I kept this in back seat of pickup w/ camper-shell. While driving I barely notice it kick on over road noise, music. being in the camper-shell it seemed the same, notice it start up, was about all.The temperature settings: Anyone's guess. I did use freezer initially on smaller side, and once I figured a number setting to put Both sides on, it seemed consistent. What those number represent, does not make sense in Fahrenheit nor Celsius. 34 seemed good (cool) Frig zone. around 26 was frozen.

ENDLESS BEEPING
The media could not be loaded. This fridge beeps sporadically and frequent, random intervals for absolutely NO reason. This happens whether the unit is hooked up to AC or DC power. It is incredibly annoying, and renders the unit completely unusable. I was hoping to use it in my van, but the incessant loud beeping is unbearable, and seems to interfere with its ability to hold a set temperature.I have tried changing the in-app settings, checking the power connections, unplugging and replugging in the device, and trying multiple different power sources. Unfortunately, all of my troubleshooting efforts have made zero difference.I'm SO incredibly disappointed. Customer service has not replied to any of my emails or requests as of yet.

It fits!
Pulled out the original Dometic 3-way RV fridge and replaced it with this 48 qt Alpicool. No need to alter the cabinet! However, this unit requires more power from my rig, bc previously the fridge was powered by propane. The specs state it draws 1-3.5 amps, depending if it's cooling or maintaining. I calculated 120 amp hours/day and solar panel requirement of 144 watts/day. I upgraded to 200 watts solar panels and 200 amp hours of lithium deep cycle batteries for the job. So far, so good! Yes, of course, I needed this, bc it's beige color and fits my color scheme, plus, the separate fridge and freezer, the cutting board, and the Bluetooth access to temp readings/control fxns can't be beat!

Works great except when it doesn’t
*11/9/24The smaller compartment that I’ve been using as a freezer no longer works. It doesn’t cool at all, on any setting. The larger compartment that I’ve been using as a refrigerator is still working fine. I’m probably going to switch over to a small 12v fridge for semi trucks, like the bodega.*Over a year later and I’m still happy with this fridge/freezer. It still beeps a few times a day, but the compressor doesn’t shut off as often as it used to. The freezer does fluctuate above freezing sometimes if I don’t have anything in it, but when it’s stocked it holds temperature pretty well. I do have mine inside of a fairly enclosed space, so I have a pc fan on each side blowing air in to the compressor area. Hope this helps.*5 months later: The reset I mentioned in my initial review is still occurring, however, it is less frequent, and only once have I found the unit saying it’s on but the compressor wasn’t running. For the price this unit is pretty good, the dual zone stays pretty close to the selected temperatures, and other than the occasional reset, it functions as it should.I was happy to find this fridge/freezer because it fit the dimensions I had for a unit, and I was able to get dual zone and dual reversible lids. Another reviewer has the same problem as I do, every now and then the compressor completely shuts off and stops working. I’ve noticed the battery indicator shows as if it’s being charged, but nothing is charging. If you unplug it and plug it back in it comes back on just fine and works, but if you’re not next to it you could lose your items. It’s beeped multiple time without shutting off, but in the week and a half that I’ve owned it it has happened twice. I love it otherwise, it does a great job of cooling and staying cold. I have mine hardwired to my 12v system, I’m going to buy the battery for it and see if that possibly keeps this from happening. I’ll try to update after I have it and install it.
