Great value
This battery charger costs what a battery charger is worth. Why pay almost 10x more for a charger with a brand name on it? It does look or feel cheap. The battery fits perfectly and the power plug folds flat for travel. When plugged in it takes a few seconds to analyze the condition of the battery and then a red light glows. When the battery is charged the red light goes off. The battery does not get hot. The length of time to charge is about the same as when the battery is charged internally within the camera. Why is this a useful product? My particular camera, the Olympus XZ-1 (also true for the XZ-2 and XZ-10) does not come with a battery charger, which means the only way to charge it is via the USB connector. That same connector is used every time I download photos which means it gets a lot of use. To prolong the life of the connector it makes sense to avoid using it as much as possible to charge the battery. Additionally, for vacations I like to carry a spare battery. By having a portable battery charger that can also be plugged into a cigarette lighter socket I can be assured that I always have a fully charged battery available. For the price, this battery charger is a solid value and works as expected.

Inexpensive and effective
My Olympus XZ-1 didn't ship with an external battery charger. Instead it has a cord that can link the camera either to a USB port on a computer or to an AC electrical outlet. I'm used to - and prefer - charging camera batteries in an external charger, instead of having to run a cable from the camera to an AC outlet. (Only if there were no other options would I even try to charge a camera battery via USB connection to a computer). To satisfy this preference I ordered this inexpensive - OK, dirt cheap - battery charger for the XZ-1's battery. My expectations were low, but were greatly exceeded. The charger took awhile, but eventually the light turned green to indicate a full charge, and when I inserted the battery into the camera, the display also showed a fully charged battery. I haven't tried the car charger adapter for this unit, and probably never will, so I can't say how well it works. On the whole, I am pleased with this charger.

Gets the job done
The build quality feels cheap but it always works. It allows charging in the car or at home. The price is a small fraction of the OEM. Because of the cheap price I'm not afraid to bring it into hostile environments.

Max Charger li-50b
Its works, can't beat the price and it has AC plugs and the ability to plug in car cig adapter also. My battery from dead to full charge took 30 mins, light goes off when done as I figured out myself no manuals incuded as none is really needed. The charger seems to be made well plugs slightly thinner than the standard plug but ok. Input voltage is from 100-220v usa or international. Marked on device and box that it only fits the li-50b battery (breaking tabs might give u more options with battery types as out range is 4.2(8.4) 600mah I would reconmend this product

Worked fine
I had purchased a cheaper charger that didn't turn off. This one seemed to know when to turn off and I got my camera back! I thought it was a goner because the cheap one made the battery overcharged and when i put it back into the camera it beeped a bunch of times and then died. I had a second battery so I charged it using the new charger and when I put it in the camera I got the same beeping. I tried turning it on about 5 or 10 times and still the same thing. So I called Olympus and tried to turn it on and this time it worked - miraculously. In fact, I replaced the battery with the other overcharged battery and it started working, too.

Premium Battery Charger with Car Charger Adapter
I am not impressed with the quality of this "Premium" Battery Charger with Car Charger Adapter. The first time I used the charger I heard a little hiss (about 20 minutes into a charge) and then a burning smell. I immediately unplugged it and wrote the company for a new one. Took a little time to did get a replacement. We have not taken the time to recharge a battery yet in the new charger, but you can bet we'll be watching it carefully.

Must Have
Yes, another external charger. But essential for enthusiasts who need to charge an extra battery such as this alternative STK's Olympus LI-50B Battery - 1500mAh for Olympus XZ-1,SP-800UZ,SZ-30MR,XZ1,SZ-10,SZ-20,SZ-11,SP800UZ,Olympus Stylus Tough-6020,Tough-8010,Tough-6000,9000,Tough-8000,1010,Tough TG-810,1030 SW,Olympus SP-810UZ,Tough TG-610,TG610,SZ10,Tough 8000,1030SW,T... or this one High Capacity LI-50B Replacement Lithium-Ion Battery for Olympus Stylus Tough 8000, 6000, 1030 SW, 9000, 1010, 1020 Digital Camera to the Olympus OEM version Olympus LI-50B Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for Select Olympus Digital Cameras - Retail Packaging without tethering your camera to a USB instead of being out there shooting. True dedicated multi-tasking. Use the camera for its intended purpose -- taking pictures -- while this charger does its only job. I haven't used the car adapter, but that offers more options in today's electronic age, just in case. I always prefer to have a couple of fully charged spare batteries with me in my camera bag or case. You would think that some creative company could multi-task a "smart charger" to handle the plethora of proprietary batteries that camera manufacturers seem to require, all in the interest of power and compactness. This charger's electronic specs are identical to another knock-off. This one says "Fits OLY Li-50B" while the other says "Fits OLY BLN-1"; slot for holding battery is custom-sized for specific battery and cannot be used interchangeably with another battery that has different dimensions. Whatever happened to AA or AAA or NiMH?
