I'm really impressed with how well this cleaned up my 94mm VW cylinders. With WD40 and maybe 60 seconds of back and forth it cleaned the glaze off the cylinders and left a nice cross hatch pattern. Super easy and in my humble opinion, way easier than the old 3-stone hones. The downside is you may need multiple hones for different bores but for me it worked out really well.

It’s hard to find a correctly sized hone to deglaze a 4.8L/5.3L GM LS engine. I purchased a few different ones & wasted my time doing that so you don’t have to! This one has the desired tool pressure due to size for deglazing cylinders during a rebuild/refresh. The Crosshatching looks like a professional machine shop did it. Great for engines with out much scoring in the cylinders. If you have some damage to your cylinder linings, you’ll want to pass on this & get a sand-stone type hone.
