GEARWRENCH Pitman Arm Puller - 2289D

Pulled my pitman arm off with ease. Do Not use an impact gun with this pitman arm puller or it will damage the steering gear. Spray it down with WD40 and use a long breaker bar.

I ordered this to replace one I borrowed which was the exact one in the picture. I was well into changing my pitman arm when I discovered the jaws on the one I borrowed were to small and I had to open them up to get it to work. I assured the person I borrowed I found the exact same one on Amazon and would order it to replace it which was fine with him. However the one I received was not the same one. That wouldn't matter to me as much had it not been to replace one I borrowed. Beware the one in the picture is not the one you will get.

I find myself buying everything GearWrench these days. Can't beat the price when everything they make can stand up against the top selling brands on the planet.

If you order this product you most likely will not get the item pictured as it is no longer made under the KD brand or made in the USA, or have the same bolt construction. Seller will most likely ship you the inferior "made in China" replacement.

This item is supposed to have a black finish with the part number cast into the side of it. Instead the one I received had a chrome like finish with the KD part number scratched into it. The quality looks ok, I've used it a couple times since I've had it, I just wish they would send you what's in the picture.

This item description and picture shows a Danaher Tool Group KDS2289, made in the USA. What I actually received was a GearWrench 2289D, made in Taiwan. Very weak...back to Amazon you go. Buyer beware!

I invested in this after my $10 one stripped from northern tools.Great tool if u want to separate the ball joint from the lower control arm.Works with separating the outter tie rod ends from the steering knuckle if u don't want to damage the nut with a hammer!

The picture shows a puller made in the USA. The puller that was delivered is not what as pictured.

This tool was advertised as a KD branded tool.When it came it is a gear wrench tool??Not sure what kind of quality it is??I finally broke my KD puller after 25 years of use.I would have much preferred the tool advertised.
