The Army Painter, Colour Primer Matt Black, 400 ml Acrylic Undercoat Spray Paint for Miniature Painting Color Primer for Wargames, DnD & Warhammer

To my mind this is the best primer for the money for miniatures. I've tried Citadel and Humbrol and this wins on both quality and value. It dries quickly and the coverage is even and I've had no problem with the texture. I use this with Vallejo paints and its great.

I like the army painter stuff and this is not exception. Works well covers great.

This does the same job as the more expensive branded primers plus you get much more in a can; and you’re not compromising on the quality of the paint either. The primer itself is easy to apply, but just ensure you shake it well otherwise it’ll come out thickly and ruin the surface. It doesn’t dry quick nor slow, around a couple of hours would be fine. Just don’t leave it outside to dry or the surface will crack and turn blue!

Good coverage and finish. Recommend you wear a mask or spray outside as smell is strong. Will buy again.

Great paint i used it to paint my pig

We ordered this to base coat a large Orc Mech figure our 11 year old was given for his birthday. It sprayed beautifully, covered well and had very little run off. A lovely deep matt black colour and coverage, enabling detailed painting over the top and accenting. Plemty left in the can after doing 2 coats on the large figure so he will be able to do plenty more figures from the same can.

Bought as Matt black, primed a bunch of minis only for it to dry with a very gloss finish, very different to previous uses with the same product and unusable for my painting purposes - I've now got a rubbish job trying to strip it off an expensive batch of minis. Had clearly been mislabeled by army painter, not Amazon's fault, but I won't be using this brand again

Super produit pour un masquage précis ! J'ai récemment testé la bombe de masquage Army Painter noir, et je suis vraiment impressionné par ses performances. Voici mon retour détaillé après quelques utilisations : Points positifs : Couverture excellente : Le produit couvre vraiment bien et offre un masque précis sans bavures. Même sur des surfaces plus difficiles, le résultat est impeccable. Texture agréable : Une fois appliqué, la texture est lisse et agréable au toucher, ce qui est un gros plus pour travailler sur des projets détaillés. Comparaison avec d'autres produits : Avant d'utiliser cette bombe, j'avais opté pour la primer Action, mais il n'y a vraiment pas photo. La qualité et la performance de l'Army Painter surpassent largement ce que j'avais l'habitude d'utiliser. En résumé : Je recommande vivement cette bombe de masquage à tous ceux qui cherchent un produit fiable, facile à appliquer et efficace. Elle a totalement amélioré mon expérience de peinture, et je l'utiliserai sans hésiter pour mes futurs projets.

Uso prodotti Army Painter da tempo, ma questo spray primer mi ha davvero sorpreso per la qualità e la facilità d’uso. L’ho testato su miniature in plastica e resina, e il risultato è stato sempre impeccabile. 🎨 Copertura e resa: La copertura è uniforme già con una passata leggera. Il primer aderisce perfettamente senza colature né zone lucide, mantenendo intatti anche i dettagli più fini delle miniature. Il colore di fondo è opaco, perfetto per ricevere vernici acriliche — sia della stessa Army Painter che di altre marche. Si asciuga in circa 10–15 minuti e lascia una superficie liscia e resistente. 🧴 Qualità dello spray: La valvola è precisa e costante, non “sputa” prodotto e permette di dosare bene la quantità. La resa è pulita, senza eccessi di polvere o accumuli. Il primer aderisce bene anche su miniature stampate in 3D (PLA o resina) dopo una leggera pulizia. L’odore è quello tipico degli spray, ma niente di eccessivo: basta usarlo in un luogo ventilato. 💬 In sintesi: Un primer spray di ottimo livello, affidabile, facile da usare e con una resa degna di prodotti professionali. Copertura perfetta, tempi rapidi e risultati costanti: il miglior compromesso tra qualità e prezzo nella fascia hobbistica. 👉 Consigliatissimo a chi vuole risultati puliti senza perdere tempo con primer liquidi o aerografo

It is an ok black primer, but it also tends to be drippy, so you need to shake it quite a lot before use. Better than the white primer by AP.
