A great tool for Leilandi
First time using this today doing heavy pruning on a Leilandi hedge, a big job made much easier thanks to this guy. I used the Bosch Green Wood 5 TPI blade (the included blade isn't suitable for live wood), and that also worked really well, cutting through up to 70mm of knotty, gnarled coniferous boughs. The tool is well-balanced, and can be operated one-handed which is useful when working from a ladder. There is a bit of a learning curve to getting the best out of it, and the cuts are rougher than you'd get with a hand saw, but oh the time savings - I shifted 300kg of topiary today! Having a long (240mm) blade is really useful for reaching in to the hedge, and with practice you can get some really accurate cuts in awkward positions that you couldn't do with another type of saw. The tool would be improved with a wrist strap or lanyard (I just tied a lanyard to the handle), and as it's got a permanently exposed blade I'd recommend protecting eyes and skin while using it. This tool won't replace a chainsaw or a hedge trimmer, but it's a useful addition and with a finer blade I can see it being useful for joinery and plumbing as well.

Good piece of kit
The KEO garden saw performs very well though it would seem from the instructions that it is intended to be held in one hand. I found it far more comfortable and easier to use by applying downward pressure from the top surface. I really only have two niggles which prevents me from giving the item the full 5 stars. 1. When I got the saw and charged it up ready for use, it only runs very slowly. I was convinced at first that the on off switch was faulty and indeed almost returned the item. However, trying it out, I discovered that the sawing speed increases dramatically as pressure is applied to the branch being cut. It would seem that this is a deliberate function, but it would have been helpful if there was some mention of this in the instructions. Indeed I only failed to return it after looking on the internet and seeing other comments about this and so decided to try it. Rest assured, it does work and works well. 2. My other niggle is the fact that the safety switch, which has to be pushed in either direction to allow the main trigger switch to work, is hard to operate with one hand. Again two handed operation seems to be required. Maybe it depends on the size of your hand. Once started, the amount of pressure required on the trigger switch is more than I would like. I'm a 73 year old male, not exactly weak, but found the trigger very heavy. Despite these comments, the saw appears to be well made, does what it's supposed to do and does it well giving a good clean cut. The mechanism for changing blades is easy to use. I have no significant concerns with it and feel that I now have a very useful tool for garden use. Bearing the above comments in mind, I am still happy to recommend this item.

Stops that arm ache and trims the tree branches in seconds.
Excellent item, previously spending 15 mins on one tree branch is now done in seconds. I trimmed a large section of trees down within the hour and these hadn't been done for well over 10 years. The wireless power allows me not to get stuck in a large amount of cabling as being powered battery (the only part was I don't know if the battery pack can be replaced as it is encased in rubber at the back of the tool, it maybe replaceable but I haven't found out if so.), yes this did run out of juice, after 1 hour and half continuous use the power indicator was implying it was at a low level. Don't get me wrong it won't be a tool to clear your garden full of 20 trees, this tool is for general trimming and cutting of wood for DIY. Great alternative instead of using the hand saw, in regards to the blade condition after cutting 3-4 different types of tree's it seems to be still in good condition for next time use. I will be purchasing some extra blades in the future though. Using the tool is simple and the setup for switching the saw blade is great, no looking for allen keys like other power tools. The branch grabbing/support tool is good feature as it keep the saw stable and accurate.

A good investment for the garden and toolshed.
This is a new purchase so I haven't used it exhaustively yet. However I have used it to prune some neglected shrub roses, a task that with a manual saw would have been very difficult because of access to the branches that needed to be cut, with great ease and success. There are more to do! The saw seems well constructed and durable; charges rapidly (empty to full is around three hours). I haven't used it to exhaustion yet so am not sure of the working life of one charge. I have yet to master a comfortable hand grip since one needs to release a safety catch with thumb or forefinger and simultaneously depress the trigger. The safety catch can be released once running. The speed of the reciprical action can be controlled by the degree to which the trigger is depressed but I guess most users will use it "full speed ahead". The "A" attachment is used to hold a branch allowing one-handed use. It works fine but there is a knack needed to remove and replace the attachment (this is shown diagramatically in the literature supplied). I still have eight fingers and two thumbs. Safety is emphasised in the literature. Wearing sturdy gloves, and ideally eye protection, is recommended but the most important thing to remember is to keep BOTH hands away from the blade. Develop a one handed technique and do not use you other hand to steady the workpiece or to apply extra pressure. So far I am very pleased with this purchase. I have only used the blade supplied but one can purchase blades for metal or a sabretoothed blade for garden use, although the blade supplied cuts green wood satisfactorily. The blade is only about 15 cm long so don't expect to be able to attack a forest tree! Leave that to the tree surgeons!

Absolutely amazing.
We just cut a large number of branches off a medium-sized tree in our back garden (with a manual saw). That took several hours and an awful lot of effort. Then, I realised I'd need to cut each of those branches 8-10 times each (into manageable pieces for transport to the local dump) - so far I'd only had to cut them each the once! Enter the Bosch Keo, which I then ordered and used to clear the mountain of tree branches littering my back lawn. For branches up to a couple of inches thick, this is the perfect tool. Cuts through almost like butter. I think it's easiest with the supplied guard in-place, as this helps to keep the blade straight and makes cutting optimal, I find. Other reviewers have discussed using this saw for much larger branches - I think that is a mistake. This saw simply isn't designed for that. Likewise, for really small twigs (5mm or less), a pair of good seceteurs is best. Why did I choose this? Firstly, Bosch is always the highest quality. This product definitely lives up to that expectation. The second reason was that it has no mains cord. Climbing up a ladder to cut tree branches, I frankly don't trust myself with a coord dangling behind me. In summary then, perfect for small (1/2 inch diameter or more) to medium (2 inch) diameter branches. I wish I had bought this years ago. NB I have not tried cutting anything else - e.g. plastic, metal, etc.

Great little cordless saw for free firewood chopping!
I've used this a few times now, and feel able to post a relatively informed review of the product. It was nicely packaged when it arrived, protected well. I spent a small period of panic thinking it had come without an actual saw blade, but it was inserted in the cardboard packaging on the rear of the storage space for the main unit. Packs of 5 replacements are available, not expensive. It was really easy to assemble - took two minutes and we were ready to rumble. It's a nice size to use, albeit a bit of an odd shape with the battery pack at the end - but it does serve to act as a support when cutting. It doesn't take long to charge, and there is an indicator light on the top that clearly flashes when it needs topped up. I haven't used it until it has run dry, as I only cut a few branches at a time to put on the fire, so cannot comment on how long it actually lasts. The main issue I have, and why I have given it 3 stars, is the little red lock switch which is located mid-body on the picture, is hellish to use. It is a safety switch that you must press at the same time as the 'on' trigger. It has sharp edges, is very difficult to hold in whilst pressing the trigger and invariably I take my finger off too quickly and it cuts out. It would be much better with a more rounded profile for user comfort, and perhaps a little work done on the activation time - it's just awkward. I'm sure they thought about it long and hard when designing it, but I don't really see why it couldn't have been on the top where your thumb rests naturally when pressing the trigger. A 'push and slide' mechanism in an easier location would have been a better idea in my humble opinion :). When actually using the saw, if you don't have the item you are cutting clamped tight so it doesn't move, you will get vibration up your hand and arm to rival standing on one of those power vibration plates - it wants to cut! The cutting action is quite quick given its a small cordless tool and is ideal for my needs.

Light, Cordless and Effective
The good Cuts very well Light and easy to use Makes short work of branches up to 2-3 inches The bad Battery life Damp wood This saw is an impressive lightweight electric battery-powered saw that is perfect for small tree branches and other lightweight cutting tasks. The saw can cut through small branches within a few seconds and the branch hook can easily be removed for larger branches. For reference some things I have used this for include cutting a door in half, cutting wooden ladders, Christmas tree and small apple tree branches. One thing to be aware of is it does not use the multi-use Bosch battery that comes with the Bosch drill which was disappointing. The saw uses its own built-in battery which I would estimate does not have more than 15 minutes of continuous cutting time. The blade included is very good on dry wood, but would not recommend it for damp wood as it did struggle with some thicker logs. Overall this product does what it is designed for very well, at a reasonable price point. Blades are easy to replace so should be a reliable saw you can use for garden maintenance for a long time.

Great value for what it can do
This is a really effective garden tool. Mine still works after a year of hard use, including cutting branches of more than 80mm diameter. It is beginning to get a bit temperamental, but bearing in mind the value that I have got out of it, I can't complain. I will be buying another. It is light, fast and cuts surprisingly big branches.
