Preserves higher frequencies better than Ear Peace etc.,
I've been using Ear Peace for years but those muffle out much of the higher frequencies, so music is adversely affected. These Etymotics let you hear the cymbals, reeds, and bows a lot better, so they allow for a better listening experience. On the downside, I seem to have to take them out every five minutes or so due to a build up of intense itching. That might just be me and my hairy ear canals, or maybe an allergy to this particular silicone, but it is a serious issue for me personally.

Lifesaver!
I can't believe I used to go to concerts without these. Never again!

Good for small ears
The first time I used this was at a concert where I believe it was really put to the test because of the range of silent to very loud music (even the performer seemed to find the bass tones a little on the heavy side). The concert I went to was in a theater where the sounds reverberated off the walls and floors so easily and the performance had the sort of bass that shakes you to the core. I must say, these earplugs definitely saved my ears and I don't recall experiencing any noticeable ringing afterward. Sound quality: Loud music ends up slightly muffled but hey, they're earplugs so expect some form of muting. What I really liked was that I could still hear speech fairly well even through the loud music. Comfort: I would consider my ear canal to be on the smaller side so these fit just fine and I didn't feel much discomfort. Other: Easy to clean. Comes with a handy little pouch and cord.

Good plugs, bad case!
As a teacher, I used these for a few days. The cute case hung on my lanyard. The plugs worked pretty good in lowering the overall dB in loud working environments, but the case didn’t snap shut all the way. The earplugs fell out once and I happened upon them on the floor. I thought I didn’t shut it all the way. I made sure that I was securely snapping the case after that. A few days later, I was reaching for them and the case was open, no plugs. I never found them again.

These guys are great.
I have two sets of these. One stays in my glovebox and the other stays in a case on my pedalboard. The ones in my glovebox have seen Slayer, Motorhead, and a bunch of other bands I'd namedrop but you don't care about. They're comfortable, and do a good job bringing the overall volume level down without killing the highs or changing the sound too much. And if you care about the band enough to buy a ticket and spend an evening standing next to obnoxious smelly drunk guys who keep yelling "WOOOOO", then you should care enough to buy some earplugs that won't affect the overall sound. But you know what they won't do? They won't cure tinnitus. If you're looking at buying some earplugs and you look at the price and say "hmm random product reviewer, these seem a tad expensive compared to the squishy orange guys I usually buy" just.. don't. You need to use earplugs every single time. And you should get QUALITY earplugs like these. In my 20s I always bought the squishy orange ones and then took them out halfway through the show because it sounded like crap. Don't be like me and wind up with tinnitus in your 30s and have to have a fan or white noise in order to be able to fall asleep. It sucks. Wear hearing protection. These are comfy, cheap, and don't mess with the sound. Make your future self thank you.

Don't fit well, so don't lower volume enough
These are too small for my ears and so don't reduce the sound enough. I have a set of Etymotic earplugs I bought a few years ago that I love and these are definitely smaller.

Very pleased
I have a small ears, I ordered standard size. Very good fit. I also am extremely picky about sound quality. Positioning these forward, or up or down, or back ir a combo tilt will change how it fits and how much it gets filtered out. My trial run was a K-pop concert, and I can say I had no ringing after the show. Other ear plugs have allowed a mid to high muffle be the focal point of what I hear, a kind of distorted sound, and becomes very annoying within seconds. Not these. These took everything down across the board. Love the cord to attach to keep from losing them.

Great Option for Musicians
I’m a violinist and I’ve been using these for years. I usually just wear one in my left ear right next to the violin but I occasionally wear both in particularly noisy situations. It’s incredibly important as a musician to protect your ears and these do a very good job of reducing overall volume without distorting sound or cutting some frequencies more than others. I’ve tried some more expensive options but I always return to these. I know that some people find them uncomfortable since they sit quite deep into the ears but I personally haven’t had an issue with that.
