Solid, Well-Made Aluminum Tool
I’m not a pro & don’t use this for pipe cutting. What I’m using it for is cutting my family’s hundreds of cheap plastic clothes hangers into 3 pieces each for recycling (both the thin plastic kind & the felt-covered plastic composite kind). I’m replacing them with sturdier, more attractive hangers. I tried to use already owned, but inappropriate, tools to cut the hangers (Knipex 74200 & Klein D2328 wire cutters, & HK Porter 2000 bolt cutter, none of which are intended for plastic cutting), & it was too much trouble to use a saw. So I found out what I already knew: they couldn’t do the job without exerting lots of force & twisting. So I bought this Ridgid plastic cutter & it works great, with little effort. Many of the other plastics cutters I researched were not able to cut as small a diameter as needed for my job, but this one cuts down to 1/8” diameter, so it works where others wouldn’t. A solid, well-made aluminum tool with a very nice textured finish & positive ratchet action.

Best PVC Cutting Ratchet I have Bought Yet!
I have used ratcheting PVC pipe cutters for years, but never, ever had a cutter that was as easy to use as this one. Yeah, it's pricey, but the last tool I just threw away was about $10 and the aggravation it caused me, and time lost, is worth ten times the price of this tool. It cuts right through 1" and 3/4" schedule 40 pipe like butter. It has a strong, solid, but not too heavy design. I have hopefully a temporary tennis elbow issue and I couldn't even make a dent in the PVC with the old cheap cutters. But one hand, no discomfort with this tool. I have cut around 30 pieces with it already and no issues at all!! This is a big issue because I have to cut pipe in my existing sprinkler system that is in the ground. It absolutely has to work one handed, and this tool solved that for me!! If you want quality and not have to worry about this frequently used tool working with PVC, this is it. I can't speak for the longevity of the sharpness of the blades, but I saw that they are replaceable. Then it would work as a whole new tool! Of course, sharpening the blades with a little oil and a dremel would work too. I'm happy with it big time. I hope you will be too.

This thing is the best.
Well, I don't know if it is the best, but I like it the best of those I have tried. It's not cheap but it is smooth, easy to squeeze, and of solid quality. I can say it cuts Schedule 40 PVC nicely, and I also use it to cut Schedule 80 PVC and it works great for that too, but of course, a little tougher to get through. It handles the thicker pipe just fine though. The angles and opening fits my hand perfectly, and I've got about average sized hands. If I had to pick just one, this is it. I don't think you can go wrong with this guy.

Best pvc pipe cutter available
Tried several different pvc pipe cutters over the years and this works better than most. And the blades are replaceable! This sounds like it should be standard but is uncommon. Replacement blades are sold here on Amazon so I purchased several so that I always have a sharp tool. The build quality of the tool itself is excellent. I feel like I could drop it off a building and it would survive easily. Highly recommended.

Good cutters
This product is easy to use and great for plumbing. Made hundreds of cuts already and it is still sharp.

Great cutter...one flaw
Best cutters I've used to date...and, being a plumber and electrician by trade, I've used quite a lot. Smooth ratcheting that requires little room, no flexing in the handles, and the small clip that holds the handles together folds completely out of the way...no awkward loop to flop back into the way! Smooth, clean cuts with little effort. Only con I found for this tool is blade life. The stock blade dulls rather quickly. If Ridgid could find a way to correct this it would be great. Other than the short blade life, I absolutely love this tool and will continue to buy it (I'm bad about losing tools...on my second one of these because of that)

Rigid quality again
This is made for larger sizes of pvc/pvcc pipe. It's rather large but fits well in my medium hands and gives good pressure with minimal effort. Cuts quick and smoothly with nice ratcheting compression. Frame is aluminum, thick, light weight and sturdy. Blades need to be kept oiled as they will rust. Recommend this tool for superior performance coupled with light weight strength that wont break a toe if I drop it.

Works well. Light weight. Sharp blade.
This tool does the job on 1/2" PVC conduit. It is much easier to cut with this tool than messing with a saw. It also allows close-quarters cutting when the conduit is already in place in a tight space. I am happy with this tool so far, and can recommend it for 1/2" PVC conduit without hesitation.

This is amazing, it cuts through 3/4 grey PVC schedule 40 in 5 clicks and leaves no lips, just a perfectly straight cut that doesn't need deburring. Haven't tried with other pipes, but for a burrying pipes and cutting them regularly without creating a mess this is perfect.
