GREAT!!!!
The Clever dripper works really well. I dosed at 15g/250ml ground on the fine side of drip. Water first, then coffee and stir. 2 mins steep, Stir again. Then... I saw the bit of water at the bottom that saw no grounds, so I slightly tapped the Clever on my warming-up cup, and dumped the warming water and this bit into the sink. The brew from there on was quite dark. Problem avoided. The process is WAY simpler than regular pour-overs, clean up WAY easier than French Press, just rinse, push up the valve and let dry. Just as fast as Keurig, more flavorfull coffee from the same beans. Just have to see how it lasts and performs over time.

Great coffee with no effort and easy cleanup.
This is such a great coffee device, combining filter pour-over and steeping. It's also effort-free. You don't have to apply pressure like an Aeropress or a French press, you don't have grounds to sop up, and you don't get mud. This is my second Dripper, as I brought one to work and it was, um, liberated from me. This new style is a little fancier on the aesthetics, but the same great valve function. I would advise some care in cleaning. You do not want to get solid particles inside the valve mechanism as it could cause it to either clog up or leak. But just use some care when removing the filter and you should have no problem. For this reason I only use paper filters, not one of those perma-filters with the fine metal mesh, because some particles always get through.

New favorite brew method
I have for a long time used a french press or v60 pour over to make my morning coffee; this has quickly become my favorite daily brew method. It is easy to use and brews a very smooth cup, with no sludge at all. I get the perfect amount of coffee and it never overflows out of the cup — a problem I faced before with the v60. I only wish it would fit on mugs with a wider lip; however, when I do opt for a larger mug, I simply press down on the bottom of the Clever Drip with my hand to release it into the cup. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and makes the best coffee!

Makes Outstanding Coffee! Unique valve allows brew customization to your taste.
I have now used my Large Clever coffee dripper almost daily for 6 months. I love the ability to hold coffee in the funnel for dialing in brew time. With some experimentation (along with grind size and water temperature), you can get the best flavor out of any type of coffee. It might seem a little pricey for a plastic funnel that only makes one cup at a time, but this design totally blows away any other pour over funnel. Yes, you can use it as a regular pour over, but the flexibility to hold coffee brewing longer opens up the ability to modify extraction to optimize flavor from any roast level or origin. The valve and plate mechanism are not as easy to clean as a regular pour over funnel, but I just rinse well after each use and take apart once a week (easy to remove valve gasket) for thorough cleaning. I would not put this in a dishwasher with an electric heating element for drying since it is plastic and because you would need to take it apart for dishwasher spray to reach all areas. It's just easier to handwash. I recommend a transparent color funnel to see the water level more easily. I also recommend using Hario V60 Size 3 White Paper Coffee Filters -- the cone shape fits perfectly in the Large (18oz) Dripper when you fold the point, they're less expensive than other quality Japanese paper filters, and there is no dust or off flavors imparted. I rarely rate any products 5/5 stars, but if you like good coffee at home, I can't recommend this product highly enough!

The BEST DRIP COFFEE!
I have three of these in different locations that I frequent. That's how good the Clever Coffee Dripper is! I take it on the road with me when on tour and man does it save me cash and getting stuck at a Starbucks with overroasted, burnt coffee. Anyone who uses a cheap plastic quick pour-over with filter is missing 50-75% of the flavor your coffee really has to offer- simply by letting the hot water and grinds sit together for 10-15 minutes. And those who prefer French press will be very surprised at the quality and taste. It uses #4 filters (I recommend Amazon's UNBLEACHED pack of 200). Some filters are super thin and the water will pass through too quickly. The unit comes with about 75 bleached, but they appear to be thinner than the unbleached mentioned above. Slowly pour boiled water (2 cups or a bit more, to the top if you like) into the coffee (in circular fashion, working from outer edges to the center) then cover the main container with the top and sit the unit on the provided coaster. Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes (there's no need to manually mix with a spoon). Find a medium ball jar that the unit can sit on securely and also make contact with the inner ring that allows the coffee to drip down. Mine has a 3" diameter and is about 7" high, plenty of extra vertical room. That's it. For an extra kick, I combine regular grind coffee (Chock full o Nuts, Maxwell House, any roast is fine) with some fine ground Latino coffee like Bustelo, Pilón, El Pico- maybe 35% of the total coffee, depending on how strong you like it. Be sure to mix the two dry coffees together with a tablespoon before pouring in the water. If you leave the finer ground coffee on top, the water won't penetrate through the coarser regular grind below. I wash with each use in warm soap water. Coffee oils/grease build up and create bitter results if you don't wash it. Every 5 uses or so, let the soap water sit in the container for about 10 minutes before rinsing. Though the price point is a bit high for this plastic unit, it is far worth it for the results you get. Makes a great gift, too. Enjoy some great coffee without spending a fortune on boutique beans that are $25/lb. You'll be very happy!

After figuring out how to brew best by watching James Hoffman on YouTube, I do love this gadget. Easy to use, minimal effort and very easy, mess free cleanup. Nicely made and quite beautiful to look at too... exactly as in description. I love to just have it out on my counter in a corner and use it whenever I don't have time for the Moka pot routine. Not quite as good a brew for espresso as Moka Pot, but still very good and superior for me for more medium roasted coffees.
