I’m so thankful i had this on hand. I try to be prepared for some common scenarios/accidents with the dogs, so I purchased some of this just to have in my arsenal. One night I was clipping one of my dogs’ nails and accidentally hit her quick. It was immediately a bloody mess. I quickly pinched some of this powder in the palm of my hand and pressed her nail into the powder and the bleeding STOPPED. I was genuinely so shocked considering how much it was bleeding. I couldn’t be more thankful for this product for saving me (and her) in this situation. It will leave a bit of a metallic smell behind, but honestly it’s a small trade off for the effectiveness of the product.

This styptic powder has been a lifesaver during nail trims. One of my dogs has darker nails, so it’s always harder to see the quick, and every once in a while there’s an accidental nick. This powder stops the bleeding almost immediately. I just dip the nail gently into the powder or apply it with a cotton swab, and within seconds it clots and my dog stops fussing. I love that it comes in a 2 oz container — plenty to last a long time, even with multiple pets. It gives me a lot more confidence doing nail trims at home instead of stressing about going to the groomer every time. Definitely something every pet owner should have on hand.
