UPDATE: FEBRUARY 12, 2017- My Two Year PURA D'OR Anniversary. Don't think I have ever stayed with one product for so long. It still is working for me!!! QUICK REVIEW: This shampoo helped regrow my postmenopausal (plus recent hysterectomy) thinning hair. It has no silicones (silicones clog pores) but you might need a no silicone conditoner for detangling afterwards. Use it faithfully for at least 3 months. Take before and after pictures to see how your hair is progressing. Read my full story when you have time. It will tell you how the first year went. Also, I have just purchased and left a review for Pura D'OR Deep Moisturizing Conditioner, which pairs nicely with the shampoo especially of you have dry, curly, or hard to comb out hair. It also is my pick if you are used to regular shampoo and conditoner because it will gives hair more "slip" but does not weigh it down. If you have hair that goes flat in one day (fine and oily) then go with the regular "blue label" conditioner. I am very impressed with all of these products. I have no interest or affiliation with the manufacturer or seller. MY STORY: I was skeptical when I purchased this shampoo 3 months ago. So skeptical that I took a before and after picture to see if it was working. I had pretty full hair until I became of a certain age. Slowly I could see my hair thinning, especially in the front. I went to a dermatologist who told me there was not much I could do. I wanted to tell myself that it wasn't true but I would not only find hair all over the shower but everywhere else, too. As far as me, I shampoo daily and have for many years. This shampoo has a pleasant smell (reminds me of incense) but not overpowering or lingering. You will probably need a conditioner afterwards as it appears to be very cleansing. I have colored hair and it did not strip the color. My hair now has body, much more shine and is noticeably thicker. I think you can see that by my before and after pictures. I hope you will give it a try before you give up on your hair. SIX MONTH UPDATE: After six months my hair has stayed thicker with no hair loss. I do continue to use Pura D'or Premium at least three days a weeks. I do switch off with low poo shampoo or apple cider vinegar a few times a week also. Like many women, my hair feels dryer or oiler as the seasons and weather changes. Also, even with great products sometimes switching it up is good! By the way, it pays to stick with this shampoo exclusively for at least three months. No more shortie bangs to TRY to cover the bald spot (never works!) Any questions please ask. ONE YEAR UPDATE: I placed my first order of Pura d'or Gold Label on 1/7/2015. So, I am pretty close to using it for one year. I took a few pictures today. I don't know if I really have any improvement over the last 6 months, maybe a little. Certainly, I have much improvement over my very first picture. My hair was broken off and very sparse at least an inch or two in. My scalp looked red and a bit angry. My fine front hair is definately a little longer at this point and you can't see my scalp anymore. My hair dresser said my hair was overall a bit thicker in December. This is the first time she has said that and I ask her EVERY time!! I have gotten used to using this shampoo which has no silicones and makes your hair a bit tangled before conditioning. I was so used to the slickness of silicones that I figured that this shampoo was drying out my hair. It was not. I have learned that the silicones can build up and also lead to hairloss. So it is a reason to keep using this shampoo and conditioner or at least one that is silicone free. I do recommend trying the Pura d'or Conditioner. I recently had my second hair transplant procedure in 12 years, and while I'm very happy with the results (Dr. Bolton's one of the BEST in N. America), I was looking for some products to help protect my investment. Almost every shampoo designed for thinning hair and/or to help with re-growth seems to be loaded with crazy chemicals I don't recognize, much less can even pronounce the names of. Pura d'or's (Gold Label) shampoo is formulated with plant derived substances that are clearly marked on the label. And being into Traditional Chinese Medicine, I'm particularly interested in herbal derivatives or extracts that can block DHT at the follicle with out wreaking havoc on my hormones like, unfortunately, finasteride (Propecia/Proscar)does. Pura d'or's choice of herbal extracts and ingredients are top notch, it smells good, lathers nicely, and leaves my hair feeling very soft and clean. While I've only been using it for a couple of weeks now, I have confidence that the shampoo will help do it's intended job of keeping DHT at bay on my scalp, while helping to nourish the follicles at the same time. And all with out harsh chemicals or preservatives that are questionable at best. I'll update every 3-4 months for a year to let everyone know how effective it's been for me... Update:10/2/14 It's been over 3 months since I started using this shampoo. Now granted, as you've read I had gotten a hair transplant a couple of weeks prior. The newly transplanted hair is coming in great by the way, and although it's honestly too soon to tell whether the Pura d'or Gold label formula is helping to accelerate and/or nourish the new grafts, I feel that the ingredients are very helpful and supportive, as you'll notice many of them are used in prostate formulas, since there's a connection between benign prostrate hypertrophy(gradual enlarging of the prostrate) and male pattern baldness. The secret ingredient in my opinion being He Shou Wu/Fo Ti, a very good DHT regulator of the body. Note, see one of my responses to a reader's question on my thoughts on HSW/Fo Ti, for more info. I love the earthy herbal smell of the shampoo, and it lathers really nicely as well. I've since had my hair cut shorter than I've worn in years, thanks to the new grafts coming along nicely, so even though a bottle of the Gold Label stuff is kind of pricey, it should last me at least 6-7 months. When you break the cost down by the month it's pretty reasonable. I'll update again in about another 90 days. Update:1/11/15 It's now been over 6 months since I started using the shampoo, and still very happy w/it. The transplanted grafts are almost at full maturity and I'm very pleased w/the results and feel the shampoo is indeed helping to nourish them as well as my scalp in general. Since it's winter now and I'm not washing my hair everyday, as I feel it makes the scalp too dry, but the bottle will easily last me beyond 6 months because of this. So again, the price is justified.

This is the second time I am purchasing this bottle. Let's start with my hair type and the problem I WAS facing : I am 23 y/o and I have always had voluminous and thick hair - which I really liked. However, I have noticed for the past 2 years, that surely because of my iron defficiency, I experienced a massive hair loss, and my so healthy, shiny thick hair started to become fine/thin without any volume. Having said that, I am totally aware that the hair type changes every 6 years however, I was horrified to see the amount of hair fallen down every time I showered. It came to a point where showering was a moment of sadness and stress - I am sure you exactly understand my pain. So I started to look online to stop my hair from falling. I firstly took iron tablets of course due to my deficiency but the most important is that I saw this shampoo from reviews and decided to take a chance on that. That was back in September 2015. I shampooed my hair twice a week with this shampoo ( finishing every time by pouring very cold water- very important step) and the results were amazing. It only took 2 weeks to notice the improvement. It gave my hair lots of volume as well. And this is one of the feature I like best. I can't be grateful enough to have discovered this miracle shampoo and I know from right on that I'll keep using this. The only issue maybe, is that it's pricey. However, I do feel that one bottle lasts a long time....(sound like I'm paid to write this, but i'm not! it's totally me being very happy and sharing my good experience!!) Ps: please not, it tends to leave the hair dry afterwards, best to use a conditioner
