Bargain
Absolute bargain so much cheaper than every other supplier. Good starter printer for avid modeller to start with. No problems so far.

64bit operating system required, so high end windows 7 or Windows 10 required
The advertising shows children and suggests that they can easily operate the software and hardware. My 12 year old son wouldn't have stood a chance, luckily I am in IT and set it up for him.

Not for me
Hmmm. Not sure about this one.On the one hand its compact and easily transportable. Not overly expensive.Easy to assemble.Downside. Software nightmare. Drove me nuts.Took flipping ages.Just don't think its for me.Might be different for you.

Fundamentally flawed and also crippled by DRM, If I wasn't stubborn I'd just send it back
Update, three regrettable years on: It has totaled 280 hours of printing and is consigned to scrap now - the Z axis warped after only a few thermal cycles, and as a single injection-molded part with nothing more to support it the top right and bottom left corners (the bearing runners, not the threaded rod sides) now sag down unacceptably under the "weight" of the carriage and hot-end. There are no adjustment facilities to fix this in the hardware whatsoever, because they planned to deal with this in software, which would be great if the printer didn't lose it's memory during each power-cycle. The software, assuming it was working, won't be able to fix the lack of belt tension on the X and Y axis, both of which are now shockingly out of tolerances on my printer, meaning that if you can get the printer to want to print and the part actually flat with respect to both the bed and the Z-frame, it still produces odd results and wonky circles. On the basis of the Z-axis frame flaws that are now apparent I've removed another star. I'd remove even the lowly single star if I could, since this thing is as good as e-waste. It's a shame, because the form-factor was great.---Where to start? I'll try the few good points first. I'm not hugely impressed with it.The good:* It's small. Fits neatly into a corner of my desk.* It was relatively cheap for a fully-assembled product.* Auto levelling actually works?! I had a failed first print until I ran it through auto-levelling, and this was actually intuitive and useful.* After setting it up, prints weren't completely awful, but this honestly depends on what you're printing, and how well it's been set up. Pay attention to bed levelling, and ensure there's something to ensure good bed adhesion such as masking tape on the bed.The bad:* The software. OUCH. You need to sign-up to download it as per the manual, and it took ages to download. You can't source it from elsewhere, it *must* be from XYZprinting's site which was just SLOW. Once open, it couldn't detect the printer and much fiddling with the settings was required for the printer to even show up at all. I couldn't even rotate the view of the models in it once I eventually got it to work. Good luck with this.* Doesn't work with alternative software. Unless you want to put a new controller board in, but you might as well make your own printer from scratch if that's the case.* The filament with DRM-style lock-in. Mine came with a free reel of filament, but nothing prepared me for the shock as I investigated the filament closer. NOTHING in the product listing told me to expect DRM-style chips in the filament, meaning in layman's terms, you can only load genuine XYZprinting filament into it. It will refuse to work with any 3rd party filament, beware! If I wasn't stubborn and want to find a bypass for this, I would just send it back as this was not something I was told about!

Great starter 3D printer
The printer arrived very neatly packaged, with any loose components securely held down with blue tape. Set-up took about 10 minutes, following the guide supplied with the printer, and was straight forward. Once we had downloaded the printer software we were able to load the printing filament (our printer came with green), and quickly designed our first model to print ( a simple cube). The printer doesn’t waste filament by printing objects completely solid instead it creates a sort of internal honeycomb structure. The finished objects still feel solid. Printing a cube with sides of about 1.5cm took about 25 minutes. Larger, more complex objects obviously take longer. Noise levels when printing are low, and there was no detectable odour from the filament as it was extruded. Although the filament is heated up to a high temperature, electricity consumption barely increased on our Smart meter. You can either use the provided software to make your own models or there are many websites offering free models to print – we have made a whistle, cars, and various jointed animal models! It is advised that you use the recommended filament with the printer. We did try using some filaments that we had from a 3D printing pen – these worked too with a little bit of recalibration in the software. As an introduction to the world of 3D printing I consider this to be a very good piece of kit.

Ottima per imparare
The media could not be loaded.

no imprime bien

Plug and print

Ok come gioco, no per business
