Great piece of gear!
Bought this because I'm tired of mixing gas and oil, using a tankful and having so much mixed unused gasoline leftover in the garage. This EGO chainsaw is quiet, efficient and slices through firewood and small tree limbs like butter. I figure the battery will last about 1 hour of constant cutting. I cut 3 wheel barrows of wood in 30 minutes of less. I like the design of the saw. Chain adjustment is quick and easy and good value for the money. Oh, and the chain lube tank doesn't leak like gas-powered chainsaws-a big plus! I highly recommend! I haven't used my gas-powered chainsaw since buying this tool. I will probably sell my gas chainsaw in the Spring.

This chainsaw is the real deal!!!
I’m really impressed with how well this chainsaw performs. I own a 16” Stihl chainsaw that I’ve used for over 20 years and thought it wouldn’t be possible for an electric saw to be so comparable. The ego 16” has such impressive power and speed even through hardwoods. I was skeptical at first, but this saw did not disappoint. It’s really nice to use this saw in the backyard to make quick work of any wood cutting you may encounter. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this saw in the woods neither.. The battery life is really good and it is up to the task of any big wood cutting project. As a long time gas chainsaw user I would highly recommend this EGO saw for anyone looking to try out the electric version. I really like the fact you don’t have to worry about mixing oil and gas and then having to use fuel stabilizers for unused gas. I do love the sound of a roaring gas saw ripping through trees, but you know technology keeps evolving and our planet is better off for it. I’ll stop there before I upset anyone. Go ahead give this saw a try, I think he likes it Mikey.

Cuts Like Gas
Having owned and used several other brands of battery "chainsaws," my opinion was they were good for small limbs and light jobs. However, the Ego CS2000 is a real chainsaw with power and cutting performance comparable to a quality gas chainsaw. I used this saw to completely cut up two white pines that were over 60 feet tall with trunks of 30 and 36 inches in diameter. The saw cut through the trunks quickly with no hesitation. Making a cut from each side (slicing on the ground) took about 45-60 seconds on each side, well under 2 minutes to make a complete cut. I used the "medium" speed to minimize the rate of battery discharge. While this saw works great for me as a homeowner for occasional tree removal, there are limitations for someone who needs to cut for extended periods of time. I was using 7.5ah and 10ah Ego batteries. Cutting limbs and branches up to 8-10 inches in diameter, (lots of starting and stopping) the battery would last over an hour and discharge well with little heat buildup. But cutting the trunk pieces definitely tested the limits of the batteries. After 15 minutes of continuous trunk cutting, the red indicator lights on the battery would start flashing, saw would stop, and the battery was definitely very warm to the touch. After sitting for 5+ minutes, the battery was functional again and usually displaying 2 or 3 out of 5 capacity lights. If you have multiple batteries, it's no problem, just a 10 second battery swap and keep cutting. However, continuous heavy cutting exceeds the limits of the battery. Update: after repeated battery overheating, I have decided to buy cheaper off brand batteries for the chainsaw. The overheats led to a decreased capacity cycle (no longer charge completely and shorter discharges) in two of my 10ah batteries. I still love the saw, but if I’m damaging batteries during heavy use, I will do so with cheap batteries. I no longer use it for long periods of time under continuous heavy load. Overall I'm happy with the saw. I finally have an electric chainsaw that can make heavy duty cuts. I no longer have to inhale 2stroke fumes, no damage to my hearing, no drive to a distant gas station in search of ethanol free fuel, and no wasted time cleaning carbs and plugs. With a press of a button, the saw starts immediately every time. I no longer deal with any of the choking, compression, flooding, fouling issues associated with gas. Maybe not the best choice for a professional tree removal expert doing everyday heavy cutting, but it's a great option for the rest of us.

Almost Too Good - The Perfect Brush Clearing Tool
I bought the EGO Power+ 12” Brush Cutter to tackle some overgrown areas on my property, and I can confidently say this thing is an absolute beast. It works so well it’s almost concerning — it will cut through just about anything you put in front of it. Thick brush, tall weeds, even small saplings don’t stand a chance. What used to take me hours with manual tools or weaker trimmers now gets done in a fraction of the time. The power is impressive, but it’s also surprisingly easy to handle, well-balanced, and efficient. Clearing large areas has never been quicker or easier. If you’re dealing with heavy brush or overgrowth, this is hands-down the perfect tool for the job. Just be mindful — it’s so effective you’ll want to be careful what you point it at! Highly recommended for anyone serious about land maintenance or property clearing.

EGO products are simply the BEST electric yard tools made. No contest.
I LOVE EGO products, and this is no exception. It works well for cutting up logs 6" or less. But if you are cutting larger things, there is no substitute for gas power. It is quiet, and works even better with a larger battery for more power, and also for better balance, else it can be too light. This is the newer model where the teeth at the body end of the bar are steel, and not a plastic. It still required bar oil, and I use the EGO branded bar oil from Amazon, as the price is about the same as any other brand. I have many ego products, including the pole say, power shovel, snow blower, Z6 e-steer mower, leaf blower, edger, inverter, and many batteries from 2.5Ah to 12Ah and have never had a probelem with anything, but follow best practiced for battery use and charging. As always, register ALL EGO products right away for potential extended warranties.

lighter and works better than my gas chain saw

I've never owned a chainsaw before but I figured something electric would be pretty low maintenance. I've gotta say I was pretty impressed. I mostly just use it for construction demo work but it clips through trees pretty fast too. The bucking spikes are awesome and I like how you can set the speed with a few buttons.

Fonctionne à merveille. Bonne puissance, lame de qualité, sans le bruit d’une tronçonneuse à essence.
