Worth it!
A week post op and so glad I have this pillow! I also purchased the seatbelt shoulder strap. Love them both! The larger side pillows add soft support under the arms where stitches extend. It’s light weight and super soft and comforting, perfect for protecting bruised raw areas. Color is more an orchid than purple as shown on site. The only negative is the waist strap which I didn’t use. There is no place to secure or tuck it away if not using. The shoulder straps were handy for carrying and hanging in bathroom area. Worked well in the car to cover and help secure from jostling and bumps. I also purchased the matching seatbelt shoulder strap and used them together after surgery and post op appointment. I highly recommend this pillow and shoulder strap. Oh and the pockets are on both sides which are perfect for eyeglasses, phone, anything you need to carry. While resting I slide my hands inside the long pocket which secures my arms from dropping down and they sit softly and comfortably on my chest. I would definitely buy these again!

Straps slip easily, but I would still purchase again.
This is the only FSA purchasable mastectomy pillow on Amazon. As a trans man, it’s a little silly that the ONLY one available in this way is bright purple and says Intimate Rose on BOTH sides of this reversible pillow lol, however this quickly became my most useful supply purchase and left me not caring about color or logo. This is critical for not just comfort but a light layer of protection around my double mastectomy incision. Helps me have a place to put my hands, and even more useful, rest my phone without having to press on my very bruised sternum. There’s a pocket on both sides that for the first week I used the inside one to hold my drains. Otherwise the pockets are great to hold and ice pack (included!) to your chest, and the outer one is great for holding your phone and other things you want to have close (it’s VERY hard to reach for things after a double mastectomy). Recommending this to anyone going through this surgery.

Recommend for breast reduction/augmentation surgery post-op
This pillow was a smart purchase for breast-reduction surgery, and I recommend it. It seems to be well-made and provides many benefits when recovering from breast reduction/augmentation. The straps are adjustable and it can be fastened at the back. The fabric is a soft, comfortable velvety texture that is soothing to the skin, and the pockets on both sides of the pillow are useful, especially when first out of surgery. A cooling pad (included) can be placed in one of the pockets to help control swelling, which is an added benefit. Because of the way the pocket is sewn (stitch in the middle,) it is a little tricky to get the ice in there, but it is possible. I have used the pillow mostly for extra protection when pets are around, and to protect sutures when wearing a seatbelt in the car. If you're not a natural back sleeper, the flaps on the sides will keep you from rolling to the side when sleeping. This has been super helpful during my first two weeks of recovery as I naturally will roll to the side. This is one of the smarter pre-surgery purchases I made.

Comfortable & safe protection PostOp while in a vehicle or being hugged!
I've had a longer than expected recovery with 3 surgeries during 11 months, so I literally wore out my 1st pillow. I had no hesitation in re-ordering the same pillow. I'm 5'1" and the straps are adjustable to my height or someone much taller. The straps are great because NO Need to "hold the Pillow" in place. I feel well protected whether riding in a vehicle or being hugged by well meaning friends & family.

ALMOST PERFECT but mine was not assembled correctly
So I had a double mastectomy a week ago and have used this pillow daily! It is soft, comfortable and great for sitting, seatbelts and even sleeping! I literally wear it all day everyday. The front pocket is great for storing my phone, lip balm, ID etc. it’s like my mini purse. HOWEVER my straps are defective and assembled BACKWARDS. So I had to remove a star. In the Amazon picture the strap adjustment piece is shown correctly assembled right on top of the strap. Mine is sewn on UPSIDE DOWN so the plastic adjustment piece is down against the back of my shoulder. Soooo you ask, why not just flip the pillow around so the straps are the right way? Sure but then the BACK strap is INSIDE and so hard to clip AND the pouch for the freezer pack would be on the outside instead of against the chest. So there’s no goo solution. I called the company and got NO response for a week. I ordered a replacement BUT IT WAS SENT WITH THE same problem. Now I have to figure out how to return that one when I can’t currently drive. Ug. Again it is SO CLOSE to being perfect but they need to explain to their manufacturer HOW the straps go.

Loved this pillow. It provided the right level of support. I slept in it and pretty much loved in the first 2 weeks after surgery.

Bought this for my Mom’s double mastectomy recovery. It’s been very helpful with her underarm pain after her lymph node removal, she wears it day and night. We were first attracted to this product by how portable it is due to the straps, but we have run into some issues, mainly that the straps started fraying within a day of use. To prevent it from getting worse we tried burning the end of the strap, but it continues to fray. Since she wears it all day, we would also prefer if the logo weren’t as prominent. The pillow is reversible but the logo is equally large on both sides.

While the pillow itself is comfortable, all three straps are unsatisfactory. The strap on the back has no mechanism to keep it in place so the buckle slides right off. I had to use a safety pin. The straps for the arms, when shortened to their maximum, are still too loose and stretchy. The hot/cold pack is large and does not fit into the pockets; the pockets have been tacked at the opening halfway across. So if you wanted to use the hot/cold pack, you would have to pick out the stitching so that it would fit. Attention to detail is not this company’s forte. Since I need this pillow right now, I will not return it. But if I had to buy something like this again, I would try another brand. UPDATE: company refunded my money. Thank you.
