Speaker Grill Mesh Sponge

Used this to restore a set of DCM QED speakers. Very good match to the original grille material. Just what I needed for the job.

Like one of the other buyers/reviewers, I have a pair of DCM Time Windows that needed recovering. This material is an exact match (or darn close) to the original covers including thickness, density and appearance. There was plenty of material to cover both speakers. Tip: It's packed extremely tightly which leaves the foam a bit crushed looking. I filled the tub with hot water (not burning hot) and placed the roll of foam in the tub (weighted down so it stayed under water). After about an hour the shape was perfectly restored. Shook the moisture out then layed it out to dry for a bit.

Good product, renovated a pair of speakers from the 70's. They look great. The recommended glue worked very well & completely invisible.

Firstly, this foam covering has a great density and color. I initially purchased this to replace old foam on some DCM time window speakers. The trouble with this foam is the way it is packaged. Instead of being rolled up and shipped in a tube, it has been folded, compressed, and shrink wrapped to fit in a 6" by 10" package. This packaging choice creates wrinkles and folds in the foam. It is stated in the sellers ad to unfold it and let it set for a while, which I did. It did not help the damage. This review has been posted about 3 weeks after the product has been received. No change in the fold lines or wrinkles. Ultimately, I had to purchase another one in order to find a useable section to finish the job.

I searched for years for the sponge mesh like this to restore some 80's DCM Time Windows and this mesh matched the original perfectly.
