Featuring a number unicorns as well as other birds and a castle, it has enough distinct areas to prevent a child becoming frustrated because they cannot distinguish which piece fits into a particular area. Ravensburger’s “Unicorns in the Sunset Glow” puzzle is sturdy and the illustration is firmly attached to the backing. This should prevent those children who take everything apart from “peeling” the puzzle pieces apart. The die-cuts are smooth, allowing for easy assembly. Pieces fit together well. They are not so tight that a child will become frustrated, nor so loose that the puzzle will fall apart if jostled slightly. Even the box Ravensberger has used is sturdy. Although recommended for ages 7-years and older, I think many older children would be uninterested in a puzzle that is less complicated than others having more pieces. However, younger children with whom an adult is “playing” can enjoy Ravensburger’s “Unicorns in the Sunset Glow” puzzle. This set of puzzles was a big hit with my granddaughter who loves anything unicorn-related. This Ravensberger puzzle is definitely a 5-star item– not only for the fun factor, but also for durability and educational value.

We purchased this puzzle for a child who is not a fan of puzzles, but needs to work on fine motor skills. This puzzle did the trick. The puzzle was a nice size. The pieces were challenging, but not to overwhelming. We did this puzzle and would recommend it to others.
