Really Loved These, At First!
Don't buy unless you can solve problem of adhesion.Love everything about them...ease of installation, blackout feature, ease of use and maintenance and still look pretty but for adhesion issue from the first. Adding more adhesive, trying double sided tape, super glue, NONE of it worked. Everytime I think my "fix" did the trick I am back to squre one two days later. It is not the window frame but the adhesive used by the company as it is always the same, but different location on each shade, that start to sag a couple days later and my fixes are still attached to window sash/frame.I bought 2 and I am on a fixed income so buying new ones not an option at this price. I have also wished the company offered a fix.

Do not buy
A waste of money, a hassle, and damaged plaster. Do not buy these. There are permanent but easy to install blinds that cost the same and work much better. I thought I would save myself some work, and ended up tripling the work. I have bought two of these before in the light filtering version. Those work ok except one had bad adhesive which I fixed with 3M temporary hanging strips. Both of these still work, possibly because they are lighter (weight wise) and in rooms where we don't put them up and down often. These blackout ones are a mess. They are too heavy first of all, which causes the adhesive to totally fail, but the adhesive is still strong enough to pull the paint and plaster off of walls (worst of both worlds). Also, the material is more resistant to pulling, so 1) both blinds I bought would no lower all the way (5-8 inches less than they should (leaving lots of space for light to come in- sorta defeats the purpose of blackout) and 2) puts more tension on the adhesive when you pull. The blackout version also is not as good looking as the light filtering is - looks way cheaper. The other big problem is that both blinds I ordered had defective cordless up/down mechanisms that were not noticable until they were actually hung. Both hung crooked (VERY crooked) when up OR down no matter how much troubleshooting I did. The bigger issue is that the company won't take returns if they have been cut and hung. Their warranty has so many loopholes that there is basically no real warranty and the company is not reachable by email or phone. Your only option is an online chatbot on their website that doesn't always appear on pages and will just blow you off without allowing you to write to a real person. The process I had to go through to get this resolved was OFFENSIVE from both Amazon and the company (which did ZERO) and I still had to pony up to get my plaster and paint fixed. Avoid these at all costs.

Love this, awesome product
A little surprised by the negative reviews here, elsewhere almost five stars which is what I will give them. I think they are awesome especially after having installed regular ones previously. I agree that the instructions should tell you you need a really sharp knife, I also tried many and sharpened one before I finally was able to cut through. So that was not as easy as they said but still do able. Also the plastic guide is really nice but you have to tAke it off once you get to the bottom plastic that needs cutting to cut that part. At first I thought that the material was just paper cause it kinda looks like it but I tried ripping a piece from what I'd cut off and it's very strong, I could not tear it. Honestly my more expensive ones kind of resemble paper also. They don't look cheap up at all. The inside is lined shiny silver to block the sun so it does give these a pale gray hue which pleases me cause I was looking for gray ones! But if you want stark white these are not. I dont care if the adhesive doesn't stick, I will just use the 3m Velcro if not. ESP for this price. I actually ordered two more!

Good! With a fault that can be easily fixed
I needed room darkening window treatments in my toddler son’s room. We had white blinds previously installed but lately noticed that he wasn’t napping well during the day due to the light filtering in. He just started walking and because I don’t like the look of curtains that don’t reach the floors, curtains weren’t an option. I wasn’t looking to spend too much as he has a lot of windows in his room. Buying window treatments for all of them - especially the wide one could get pricey. And so we decided to give this a go despite the one star reviews which mainly referenced the terrible adhesive as the con.I like the ability to customize the width to fit inside your frames perfectly minimizing light seeping in from the edges. The blinds itself does a pretty good job of darkening the room and my son went back to napping during the day. Huge plus the blinds glide up and down effortlessly.Everyone is correct that the adhesive is garbage. If I can redo the installation I’d make sure to screw closer to the outer edges and not even bother with the adhesive. We installed three screws - one in the middle and two at the ends but left a good 4-5 inches away from the outer edges. Sure enough an hour after installation, the adhesive from the edges peeled away from our frames from the 4-5 inches we left open from the sides. This was easily remedied with additional screws but we should have known better.I’m satisfied with this product and glad we took a chance on it. I’d purchase again.
