Bionaire BCM658 cool mist tower humidifier with permanent filter for medium size room

I wished I had purchased the bigger unit until I read all reviews. This particular unit is so easy to care for, the filters are quite reasonably priced and the fact I need to fill it everynight really isn't a problem. I've tried I don't know how many humidifiers before this one & this is by far the BEST. I clean the filters about once a week in warm water & ivory dish soap. I let them soak for 20-30 minutes and rince them out thoroughly & we're good to go. I'm going to try what one reviewer suggested-let the unit run until completely dry, then use water with white vinegar. I use the dumbell shaped bacteria buster & the buoy shaped water conditioner. I'm sorry I don't remember the names of these products but you can find them in the humidifier supplies. I do recommend this humidifier.

This humidifier does put moisture into the air. I had a very similar older Bionaire model for several years and it worked well. But eventually I dropped the tank while filling it and broke the tank, like others have said about this model. The old model I had was physically exactly the same, but white instead of black and the controls were just a little different. It even took the same filters, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I bought this model at Home Depot. Sounded like I had a Gerbil running in an exercise wheel right out of the box, so I brought it back and exchanged for another. The second was nice and quiet like my old one for about 2 months, just long enough for me to throw the box away. Then the bearings went in the fan. Now it sounds like someone is running a cement mixer in my bedroom. Absolute junk. They need to spend an extra $.12 per unit for a better quality fan, and make the tank stand up while filling. Penny pinchers have ruined this product. Would not recommend.

Digital humidity very seldom gets to 40, runs basically all the time. If it hits 40, stops and within less then 5 minutes starts all over again. Have to keep turning off because humidity gets to high. Got digital so humidity would come on under 40 not run all the time.

I have three of this humidifier in each of my children's bedroom. I only turn it on at night, because the heater gets the air pretty dry while they are sleeping. Works great and I usually refill the water about every other night.

Bought this at Home Depot on a whim because we needed a humidifier. After I opened it I read bad reviews and regretted buying it but gave it a chance. It worked OK but after a week dropped the tank because it doesn't stand up while you are filling it!!!!!!! It broke. Also you have to fill it ever 6 hours . I am going to buy a product with much better reviews. Don't buy this..... Waste of money and a hassle to fill!!!!!!!

The filter is not suppose to be replaced, but it can't be cleaned easily. I can't find another permanent filter to replace it with either.

the permanent filter is the reason I bought it hey do not ask for too many words , you don't pay me to do this

I use humidifier all year round so this is great, it has the control of the humidity you want at the room. Its really good.
