I've loved Ferris Wheels ever since I was a kid. When I saw this product, I knew I had to get it. It has the right amount of detail. Given that it's wood and it's prone to minor warping, it still delivered when I was finally able to assemble it. It does look fragile and you do need to be careful taking off the sheets. Using an Xacto knife to pry then apart definitely helped me a lot. I would buy it again as a gift or if I just want to have another one for myself.

This ferris wheel is super cute and works nicely. I'm no pro, but I've done enough of these puzzles and have learned from my mistakes. Inside each puzzle box they include a small, fine square of sandpaper. When you run into a piece that doesn't fit-do not try to force it. Because it will break. Instead sand a little off each side of the notch and it will fit perfectly. And if there are multiple pieces of the exact same pieces those will need to be sanded also. The perfect fit will ensure a smooth and fun completion of the puzzle. Sure, some pieces are a bit tedious, but the finished product is really cool. So take your time, pay attention and be patient, it's worth it!

I had fun putting it together, but be aware. The pieces are very very fragile so have some superglue or gorilla glue nearby. I had to fiddle with some things in order to make it spin properly and sometimes it spins with a jerk but if I just touch the wheel, it will spin again.

Tell ya what, it's cool. It definitely makes you work, but it's a classy functional ferris wheel music box at the end. I admit that the first phase was a little harder to put together than I thought it would be, but it's an initial hurdle and I think it's worth doing. Get past that hurdle and I coasted the rest of the way (by cheating a little...I will explain). The initial hurdle is connecting the pieces that make the two large circles and the spindles because it requires hard pressing small pieces repetitively for about an hour. I highly recommend wearing two pairs of nitrile gloves so that your fingertips don't get a little sore from the pressing. After that part, connecting the large supports and the base is pretty easy (JUST REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO EVERY LETTER OF THE INSTRUCTIONS AND HOW TO ORIENT EACH PIECE!). After putting those parts together, the ferris wheel works sort of, but it catches on some pieces and won't turn consistently. To stop the pieces from catching you either need to make and attach all the carousel cars.......or do like me and just wrap rubber bands around the ends of the spindles. I opted for the latter because the carousel car assembly looked like another hour of hard pressing small pieces, which I was too lazy to do. The thing functions fully with the rubber bands, the music is beautiful and the wheel spins for at least 45 seconds per winding of the music box. It's a really cool item if you ask me. Highly recommend if you have the patience. ALSO......BIG NOTE......DON'T LOSE THE TINY G10 PIECES. THEY ARE IMPORTANT!!!! Have fun!!

In putting it together, I had to study the pictures/instructions carefully. It was at just the right level for me--I had to think and be careful but it didn't take so long that I wanted to give up. For some items, there were extra parts and I ended up having to use one. I loved that they knew which extra part I was going to need. I was on the last of it when my young granddaughter was over and she carefully handed me the carriages. She was fascinated. And then the magic happened when it was all completed, the key was wound, the music played and the Ferris wheel turned. Exactly when I wanted, expected and got. (My granddaughter had to leave before the final show but she'll be back sometime soon. The magic will happen again.) (FYI: I had the Ferris wheel puzzle in my wishlist and when it was a lightning deal, I got a notice. I'm putting more of the puzzles in my wishlist.)
