The Volkswagen bus was very popular when I was young. This model is a camper conversion. There is a seat that turns into a bed, a refrigerator and stove, a popup top and a surfboard and chairs. It is a difficult build in two areas. The front end easily falls apart if you press down on the bumper by mistake. The pop up top has a spring mechanism between a separate base and top. This is one area that you may want to glue. Also I believe one fastening point on each side for the cloth is not used. They are just guides for sliding the finished top assembly on.

When you see people complaining (especially about 18+ sets) that something doesn’t “align properly” or that there are big gaps, it generally means they weren’t careful with the build. Adult sets can require patience and attention to detail. This is one such set. If you’re the kind of builder who thinks of assembling sets as a race, this set (and probably LEGO in general) just isn’t for you. If you use LEGO as a meditative exercise or an outlet for your OCD, it’s perfect. There are some intricate and involved assemblies throughout this relatively simple looking set. LEGO doesn’t design models that have misaligned parts. It’s one of the reasons I love their products- everything they sell is impeccably designed. This set is an incredibly good value. For the troglodytes there’s a low price per piece but for true LEGO fans there’s a ton of really fun and inventive building techniques as well as excellent use of color.

It is 16 year +, e.g. expect some challenges to assemble it but that is part of the deal, isn't it. The rear door falls apart easily and it is not that easy to open the motor latch in the back. The opening mechanism of the side door is ingenious and the spare wheel in front will offer a surprise for you. Loving it!!

The gift box came opened but we were able to determine that the contents were intact. I felt the opened box should have been mentioned in the description. I contacted the seller and did indicate that the opened box turned out not to b of concern. Unprompted by me, the seller refunded 25% of the purchase price. VERY NICE. VERY CLASSY. Thank u!

The T2 Camper Van was the perfect vehicle to go with my Back To The Future Delorean! That is the whole reason I purchased it. I really enjoyed the build. I was amazed at the detail that was put into this LEGO all the way down to the front wheels that turned and the actual engine that can be removed. The back tailgate lifts up as well. This is a must have LEGO and at $120.00 right now, it is a great bargain.
