Worked perfectly.
Great did the job in no time. The arrow on the plunger points to the container you are syphoning into. Placed tube into gas tank, held closed the tube on the exit end, pushed the pump and released the closed end, the gas just flows.

Works but slowly
As a Plumber I often have to empty WC Cisterns in order to change Ball vlaves and Syphons. This normally invoves a length of hose pipe and me sucking the end to create the syphon, resulting in a gob full of allsorts, dirty water, Bleach, and worse those bloody blue blocks that stain everything and it all tastes foul. God knows what I could end up with? I decided to try a syphon I didn't have to suck and bought this to give it a go. I'll be honest it does work, if you have the time. The Hose is too flexible it curls up and is a nightmare to hold to get the water into the WC bowl. I've cut it down as short as possible which helps. The main problem is the small bore on the hand pump and hose so it takes an age to syphon what is left in the cistern after using the flush, usually an inch or two. When I used a lenth of hose I was looking at around a minute to empty the cistern, this is well over five minutes, doesn't sound long but it is if you have ever stood at the side of a Kettle and waited for it to boil. I'm going to try to fit the squeeze bulb on to a normal hose to try to increase the flow rate. To be honest it isn't designed for my use. As a petrol syphon it probably is perfect and I'd recommend it over a mouthful of Petrol any day if you can spend the time waiting for it to do it's thing.

Easy to use
Brilliant, works great and just so simple. My only criticism would be theology rate is a little slow

Good pump, tricky hoses
The pump works well, but the hoses are very curly and are difficult to keep in place. The longer of the two hoses arrived crimped flat in a couple of places which probably doesn't help the flow rate. I bought it to drain a motorcycle fuel tank and it did the job, but because the hoses tend to curl up, it was tricky to get right to the bottom of the tank, and it was a two person job to keep both ends in the right places.

ESSENTIAL PURCHASE FOR GARDENERS WITH PETROL MOWERS
The standard size is very well made although the tubes kink easily blocking the flow. It takes about 3 minutes to syphon a sink full of water into the toilet so great for emptying lawnmower fuel when it has gone bad after 2 weeks of non use thanks to the 10% (E10) degradable crap added to petrol (E5 isn't much better). Not much use for anything else, but everyone with a petrol lawn mower needs one if they want it to start next time with fresh petrol. Bought a battery-starting mower cos my Mountfield was getting too difficult to start. It worked out of the box, but as the u-tube video from Hyundai says, if the petrol is yellow and smells different, (because the added 10% has reacted with the real petrol and reduced its flammability) the engine won't start, you have to syphon it out, empty the carburettor bowl, and if you are unlucky, dismantle the whole carburettor to clean the inside - nicely explained on the video but ball-breaking to do monthly. So I strongly recommend buying one of these syphons and using it every time you mow the lawn.

Simple, safe and easy to set up. A helpful piece of kit in the workshop.
It’s a straight forward principle and works well. I use it for draining fuel from a motorcycle tank to aid tank removal. Other reviewers mention the problem with the pipes being in a tight loop on arrival. This is easily remedied by soaking the pipes in hot water and pulling them straight. No need to submerse the ends to do this. Careful placement of the pipes in the fuel tank and container and a few squeezes on the bulb and fuel flows freely and safely. A cheap functional device that makes emptying a fuel tank simple and much safer.

Longer tubes would have been nice
Bought to suck water out of my car which has a really stupid design fault which the manufacturer knows about but wont fix. Thanks a bundle you famous Bavarian brand that i wont be buying from ever again! Anyway, this siphon does a decent job of removing the water. Its well made and feels like it will last. Its a shame that the tubes arent a bit longer, i couldnt comfortably operate it with one end in a bucket and the other end in the target location.
