Best rings ever! Easy install with deck of cards.
Stack as many cards as it takes under the scope so it lays in the rings. Install ring tops with 2 cards each in the gap and tighten the screws till they are snug on the cards. Now set your eye relief and torque the rings screws in a cross patteren to 10 inch lbs. Now pull the cards and continue to torque to your final torque setting till NONE of them move when being torqued. Pull the cards from under the scope and re-torque again till NONE of them move. Then again after you fire the weapon. Scope is now level with the weapon. The i use a plum bob to set my scope level. Enjoy!

Well Machined. Built like tanks.
Needed strong mounts for an AR-10. Worked GREAT. Installed as zero MOA / [put zero moa on bottom, and -5 on top] Torqued to 25 inch pounds, and used loctite. HOWEVER, I can't understand why Burris would charge what they do for these, and send them in a fancy expensive waterproof case, when after they have been installed, you are left with that case that your wallet won't even fit in. It's a very nice case... I cant throw it away, yet I cannot find a use for it. They should lower the price, and ship them in a sturdy cardboard box. To buy this type of case out right would be at least $25.00, and I would rather have paid less for the rings. Good and solid, I'm happy with the performance. Weird case though.

Good rings
I like these rings in order to set my scope zero near the bottom of my scope's elevation travel. With choice of 0, 10 and 20 MOA inserts I am able to fine tune the zero location so most the scope's elevation range is available to click up for long range shooting.

Hold like grim death. Very strong.
Burris Signature rings in all configurations prevent marring of scope finishes, and eliminate the lapping sometimes needed. The inserts also can help correct mis-aligned mounting holes on rifles, give you added elevation, and eliminate the need for shimming bases in most cases. I prefer the XTR rings to the Zee Rings, which can sometimes take a “set” making them difficult to remove or re-install. Six screws per ring means they only need to be torqued to about 17-18 inch-pounds, so you won’t bind up the scopes internals. I’d gladly pay more for ones made in the U.S. I know a number of others who simply refuse to buy stuff formerly made here that’s been offshored.

Burris - poor quality control and customer service!
I have been a Burris fan for over 15 years and have had many different pair of their rings. I also have a couple of their original Signature rings, which I love. I was very excited for the XTR rings as they appeared to be more sturdy. Upon receipt and opening I quickly realized that they were not the same quality I had grown to expect from Burris but still wanted to see how they worked. Immediately, I realized something wasn't right, I was little stumped when I couldn't get the screws out to take the top of the rings off. I initially thought the top and bottom was so poorly aligned the screws were binding up. After putting more pressure on the screws they began to come free. Upon getting the first screw out and inspecting it, I quickly realized what the problem was, they were rusted inside the base of the ring. All six screws had some amount of rust or corrosion. I called Burris to see what they thought and offered to send them the photos but they had no interest in the photos or hearing about the problem. The representative was no help and offered no assistance. He said to just send the back to the seller. I was shocked to hear this as Burris has been top notch in the past but they apparently are not the same company. They appear to have gotten to big for their own good. I believe their quality has gone down and their prices have gone up. Their Customer Service should just renamed to Customer Disrespect!

Killer rings, ripoff price....no way on earth these things cost 200 dollars to manufacture. Mounted on my 300 WSM with no problems so far, scope has no marks.

Excellent quality and functionality, that deserves 5 stars. However clearer instructions would be nice and simpler packaging, it basically comes in a small "Pelican" like case (overkill for the need). The price is also high and the premium paid for the innovative features is excessive in my opinion which is why I give it an overall of 4 stars.
