Livin' the Drone Life: An Insider’s Guide to Flying Drones for Fun and Profit Review: Great book to get started with drones! - Based on other reviews, I selected this book to get started on drones. It was a great pick. It's a fast read and covers the important stuff without a lot of fluff. It does market their service, Drone U, but this service is worth checking out. The authors are dedicated to building the drone market into viable business ventures. Their pricing for the service is quite reasonable with no big up front fees or long contracts. I think they are offering a service that is quite reasonably priced because they are in for the long haul and not just trying to scalp early entrants into the business. For those who are looking at drones as a potential source of income this book is a great place to start. Review: Amazing book! My wife and I purchased a new ... - Amazing book! My wife and I purchased a new drone for our son for Christmas, but we also knew that it probably wasn't just as easy as purchase and fly. That's when I came across this book. It's logically PACKED with information we never considered. So easy to navigate as well. It's been the best book I've ever bought on desertcart. ...even my son can't put it down. ... and he hates to read! Now his little teen-age mind is spinning with possibilities with his new drone! He's planning school projects, making you-tube videos, and so much more. Had we not come across this book his new $400 would just be yet another Remote Control car that he flies, wrecks, and moves on from. Now he (and his parents) knows how to care for his purchase. Even more, he's realizing that's it's a purchase that can keep on giving and giving. If you have anything to do with drones, or are even thinking about it, you'll want this book.

A Solid Introduction...
The good: - A general overview of the emerging Drone industry and it's potential -Outlines the current technologies being utilized for commercial purposes -Gives an overview of business structure and tools. -Provides a glimpse into the regulatory fog the surrounds drone operation. -Emphasizes the importance of education in the field, planning and practice while illustrating how they can be used for a competitive advantage. -Well organized and accesible. -and much more!! My Opinion: It should be noted that I am an avid listener of the AskDroneU podcast and will soon become a member of DroneU, however reading this book did not play an integral role in either of those considerations. The only reason I couldn't give the 5th star is, I feel, that with the resources and knowledge possesed and availd to the team who put this together, paired with the opportunity to be the first true guide to an emerging industry, Living the Drone Life fell a little short. Even worse I feel that this may have been intentional. Why provide the reader with all of the goods for the price of a book when we can use the book as a marketing tool to motivate them to purchase a membership for much more, right? Now before you throw a fit. I realize that the amount of info within DroneU is well worth the membership fee, hence why I mentioned before I will be joining. I also believe that there is value to be had in this book for the novice completey new to the industry. I even recognize the struggle of maintaining accessibility and digestibility when there is a mountain of information to convey. I will just say this, the amount of care, the perspective, the information within this book should motivate the reader to seek membership, the sales pitch cheapens it a bit those pages dedicated to this task could have been used to add more substance. People get pitched every where they turn (in general) if they are reading the book they are already buying what your selling. Just my opinion.

Not a best seller; an advertisement pamphlet
I found this book by listening to their podcasts. There were some interesting points in the book, and sometimes their podcast is interesting too. But both are advertising for their school. I'm sure their school has good instructors but I'm not interested in drone school.....yet.

A Vault of Drone Treasures
I with I had found this book before I ever put my drone up in the air. The book is very informative and very well written. I learned valuable information on battery storage and warning signs, how to recover from a fly away. How to get cinematic moves, practice drills , the drone industry, part 107 study material and more. Rob , Paul and Tim are the real deal. If you want the best book about actually livin the drone life, look no further. A must have read for every beginner and every pro.

Awesome read for new Dronies
I am a member of DroneU and this book is a must for all veterans and newbies alike. I'm currently a Private Pilot, glider rating and soloed single engine Cherokees. I love flight and was an avid RC enthusiast. But time past and now longer current on either. Bought a Phantom 3 Advanced for vacation in Mexico, but due to my lack of knowledge I only was able to get hotel video. With some googling realized I could make some money from this drone. Found DroneU and now everything has changed. My wife and I are starting a new business, she wants out of postal service and I want out of corp. world. We spend every evening after work in a field practicing the DroneU flight tests ready to get a DroneU certification. It's hard but making me more confident as a pilot. Heck I'm in the air again. I did purchase KingSchools drone training video to assist in getting my part 107. Kind of funny a lot of the material is exactly what I had to learn to get my private pilot license. Now I need to learn some business get some ND filters make some money and get Phantom 4 Pro. Wife wants Inspire, so I can pilot and she can operate camera. Thanks guys keep up the great work

True Insiders Guide
What a great book for people wanting to learn to fly or build a business. The best part is it is written by actual people that fly and teaching, not a company that only writes books after research. The information in this book is hands on research. Well thought out book, without an overload of hype. It is written in a holistic way, and very easy to follow. It is a true insiders guide. After studying many different books on drones, none have been as connecting as this book. Written for people by people in my opinion.

Aunque se escribió solo hace unos años y los drones han evolucionado desde entonces. El libro sigue siendo una guía útil para cualquier piloto que quiera aventurarse a trabajar en este mundo tan apasionante.

I like Paul, watch his YouTube channel faithfully called Drone U. Book is great, an easy read with lots of useful tips. Could easily read it a 2nd and 3rd time and get more out of it.
