I was under the impression that the train had a whisle. Am I missing something?

If you happen to buy another train that comes with a remote controller, it has a horn button on it, that’s the only way you can get the horn to beep is if you have a controller. The cool thing is that if you buy another one with a controller you can control both trains separately with the same controller (hence the A and B switch underneath the train)

Does this item have an auto shut off? Or does the power buttoon need to pressed to turn off?

No auto shut off. Also returned item which never worked properly. Buyer beware.
