I just weld DIY and at a shop, and it has been a fantastic welder. Goes up to 1/2in on 220v, and 80 on 110v. Welds what I need it to. Have a professional trailer welder at my shop who has a miller and engine driven trailblazer and he prefers to use my forney 180st so he doesn’t have to run his engine driven welder and it’s lightweight and easy to use. I would recommend if you don’t have 220v getting another adapter for a generator (if you have one) the circular plug in not sure of the name. Only problem was not with the machine just on my end I didn’t have correct breaker so I kept shutting the power off at 80amps with 110v so just make sure you have all the right electrical or generator when you wanna run higher amps. Other than that the machine is great! Looking at getting the forney 410 220 mp welder someday! Forney has excellent welders!

Didn't know what to expect. Being a cheap DC welder, I had my expectations set very low. Let me tell you, this is an amazing little machine. Its not as nice as some of the brand name welders for 10x the price. But I was welding 3/16 steel with 3/16 7018 turned all the way up (3/16 rod is a little much for this guy to be honest) and it did the entire inside of the box 34"x36"x6" for my fuel tank. Never skipped a beat, never hit the thermal protection. I did give it plenty of time to keep cool though. Burned 4 rods back to back at a time. The fan is a little noisy, and never shuts off. But the thing is amazingly light. Now all this was done on 220. I have a small wire feed for any 110 projects I may need to do. With smaller rod this has no issue blowing holes through the 3/16 plate (screwing around)!

You can't go wrong with this great little welding , if you weld on 110v you need 20amp breaker if you weld over 60-70amp , my 15amp outlet don't hold it long time over this welding amperage .

So far great with 6011 and 7018 3/32 electrodes, but if you enjoy listening to the FM broadcast band while working in the shop, this welder can interfere with the reception. Also purchased a Simder ARC-200. This welder is 1/3 the size of the Forney, 1/3 the price, and out performs this Forney, especially on 120 volt outlets.
