If i bought this router. what is the best way to extend wifi to a shop behind my house. its only 45ft away but has metal siding. thanks

Run a CAT5e cable from the router to the shop. Attach an Asus AIMesh node capable router/extender. Use the CAT5e cable for back haul, and you have the gold standard of extended signals. Another option is an AIMesh node near the shop where it can receive a signal from the main router and broadcast the signal into the shop. This might be easiest. A third option is using electrical wiring for passing internet connection through existing wiring. There are many brands and options for using wiring, and I think Asus has their own options which might pair nicely with the main router. You would need to research. For me, I have a big spool of CAT5e and I run the wires through the attic to get to my nodes. I have one node in a shop with maybe 200ft of cable running to it. I have a node in the attached garage for the stuff in there. I have a third node on the other side of the house. I have an older house (1950s) with lots of interior walls blocking the signal. The house has metal siding and a metal roof. I don't like being in the attic, but the CAT5e back haul with AIMesh is amazing. I pay for 200Mbps internet, and I get all of that from the nodes in the house. The cable running to the shop is an older cable previous owners installed. If I replaced the cable, I would probably get full performance in the shop. Regardless, a speed test still gives me 100-150Mbps in the shop. If your shop has power running to it under the ground, you might be able to snake a CAT5e cable through the piping. Much of this depends on how the piping is connected at either end. For my shop, the previous owners ran a separate 1/2" conduit for low voltage wiring. It would be easy for me to replace the old cable, but I don't need fast internet in the shop. I'll replace it if/when it fails.
