Overall, I'm really happy with this unit (warm white version). I did have to modify my old steel mounting plate to make this replacement work, but it was well worth the effort. If your ceiling plate has mounting clips for the old fluorescent bulb(s) you'll have to remove them so the new assembly can mount flat with the supplied magnets. I used a Dremel with a cutting disk - it took about 2 minutes. Or you could drill out the clip rivets. Attaching the new assembly was pretty easy. It just clicks into place with the magnetic posts. The new power supply's mounting holes didn't fit the pattern in my old plate, so I drilled 1/16" pilot holes and used two #6 x 1/2" sheet metal screws to secure it. But don't use the supplied spring-loaded wire connector. The 120 volt wires will slip out of it easily - not safe! Use good ol' screw-on wire nuts. The supplied connector is not wiring code compliant, and it's a fire hazard. So, I'm really happy with the brightness and gorgeous light color of our new laundry room light, compared with the old cold white fluorescents we had. Ya know, it might even make it more fun do do our laundry.

Love this kit It was a great replacement for the 18 year old fluorescent builb that burned out My housing was metal. This is needed when you use the magnets to mount the circular led lights in the housing. This kit was a perfect fit It’s bright, very well priced and is a direct fit

The light was very easy to install. No modification of my light fixture was required. The LEDs fit inside the mounts for the smaller florescent bulb. Small magnets hold the LEDs and power supply to the metal light fixture.

I installed this a few days ago and i couldn't be happier with the product but..... today the light went out and is extremely dim and doesn't seem to turn on all the way now. I checked all the wiring and everything is tight. The white dc adapter is very warm and has a smell to it. I am thinking it has dead or overheating? Is it possible i could get a replacement of just the power box, so i don't have to send back the entire thing? UPDATE: The supplier got back with me and is sending me a replacement. Light is bright and i couldnt be happier with how simple it was to setup and install.

Affordable, about 10" diameter LED board with magnets. Simple design, large enough, warm and cool light choices, no unnecessary dimming gimmicks in my opinion. Cool to touch. Not getting hot, hopefully it will last a long time. Great option to avoid throwing away an existing light fixture, taking into account how flimsy the replacement fixture plastic bowls are. Also, I did reuse the existing nut wire connectors with some additional electrical tape as I do not trust the provided spring loaded clamp connector to be reliable. This is a good advice I took from one of the reviewers.

Bought this for my kitchen after having bought a couple replacement florescent bulbs and replacing the ballast once. LED doesn't save as much power over florescents as it does over incandescent but it is still a good power savings and pretty much pays for itself. LED driver died after ~3 years which isn't too bad but the LEDs still seem to be fine. Found a replacement LED driver shipped from china for ~$5 and everything is back to working. Just make sure it's a constant current LED driver @ 300ma and handles the 33W this uses and you should be fine. The one I ordered looked identical to the original one with just slightly different printing on the replacement. Would be nice if the LED driver lasted a bit longer but at least this way you are just replacing the electronics and not the entire bulb like most LEDs.

I replaced two circline bulbs with this. I had a ballast go out for the second time and it was replace the ballast or replace the ballast and the bulbs with this. The price of just the ballast was about the same as this and this came with the lights, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Replacement was probably about the same as replacing the ballast. I was able to use the brackets that held the inner circline bulb to hold the lights. Popped the cover on and ready to go! It is brighter than the two bulb solution, but I will admit those were soft white (warm) and this is bright bright white. I would have gone warmer if I had the chance, but this is good for my closet and I'm very happy with the result. I don't know how long it will last, but if/when it goes out, if it's still here, I'll post an update.

3/7/2024 addendum: Just bought and installed a 4th one of these. First 3, used daily since 2020, have worked flawlessly. Installed this one in a reading lamp. Original review August 2020 These are a good choice for retrofitting old, dangerously hot, 300 Watt torchiere lamps. The LED ring runs warm, not dangerously hot, and the LEDs run on low voltage (the higher voltage power from the wall outlet is isolated inside the power supply block). They are very bright, again a good replacement for the 300 Watt incandescent tube. That said, this should only be attempted by a person with electrical, mechanical, and safety experience.
