My standard Garmin GPS mount was having lots of problems staying on the windshield, and it kept falling. It would consistently fall several times during each drive, no matter how long or how far. I needed a batter mounting system for my GPS. At first I was kind of wary of this, I thought it might slide around a bit and would struggle. When I first went down a hill with my GPS on this stand, I put my hand out to catch it, but it barely even moved. There's lots of hills where I live, and it's never had any problem. It might slide a centimeter or two on hard turns and heavy hills, but I feel no need to ever try and catch it anymore, it will stay there. There's not sticky pad or anything, its just well-balanced weight pads and heavy friction. There's nothing else I could've needed from a GPS mount. This really outshines the crappy windshield mount that comes standard with my GPS.

This is a well made reliable mounting for a Garmin GPS. It fitted my older model and it stays perfectly still on a slippery, sloping dashboard. It is also good because it is easy to take the whole thing off the dashboard and put it out of the sun and out of sight when the vehicle is parked.
