Q: How thick of a door door will fi? My door is 2". What is the exact gap width? Thanks.

The width to hold the door open is 2”. Most exterior doors are 1-3/4” and most interior doors are 1-3/8” thick. The stop will work with both these sizes. If the door is a full 2” thick it could be difficult to engage and disengage the door.

Q: How big is the gap created when the door is locked in the prop/stop position? I need a big enough gap for a cat but too small for the dog.

The stop will hold the door 2 5/8" away from the wall.

Q: What are the dimensions of the stopper? Not the package it comes in.

The doorstop protrudes from the wall 5 inches.

Q: Would this work for a metal garage entry door?

Stop or Prop will accept an1-3/4” door, which is the thickness of an exterior door. If you have a wall that is less than 14” away from the door, to attach the stop to, it will work great. I have one installed on our exterior door in the garage. It used to always slam shut when the overhead doors were open.
