Good product, app, and support
UPDATED 15/1/23: I fitted our new DB2 doorbell a few weeks ago. Executive summary is that the device is well designed and good value, but certain installation scenarios are problematic and the Android app is was buggy at first, but support identified and fixed the problem I was seeing. In more detail: One of the reasons I decided on this model was inclusion of the inclined mounting plates. However, the supplied screws are not long enough to fix these plates, and finding others that were both long enough and with a small enough head was not easy. Eventually found some at Screwfix. Note that I contacted EZVIZ Support about this and they were hopeless and failed to understand the issue. The design of the device, with the wireless chime and local storage is very good - I'm not in favour of paying subscriptions for cloud storage so this is perfect. Once installed it worked well enough. The picture is sharp although, in my situation, daytime callers are backlit and their faces are quite dark. The app was where the problem lay. I have installed it on my Android 13 phone and have disabled battery optimisation for the app as recommended. The app works well enough but then, every day or 2, push notifications stopped working. The only way to get them working again was to force stop the app and start it again. The same issue affected my wife's Android 13 phone as well. Reading the reviews for the app in the Google Play store, other people are also getting the same problem. I reported this to EZVIZ Support. It took a couple of weeks and some toing and froing, but they ultimately made a fix and it has worked perfectly since then. Taking everything into consideration, a 5* product.

Not built to last - sealant failure (as others have had)
Video misted up after 13 months. Product was fine before this - no issues with setup/lag etc. that others have reported and you can use it without a subscription (and there is no feature limitation - perhaps they hadnt used an SD card to record..). Just looks like the sealant on the lense is poor quality. Out of warranty so a bit useless, will dry it out (again) and try a DIY job on it.

Neat equipment
Nice bit of kit and no monthly payments needed for storage of recordings.

Good Bell but instructions need addressing.
Easy to install Bit of a struggle to understand how to connect to phone though.

Amazing when it works
I have to give a 3 star as the first one I received was faulty. It would instantly go offline when connected to my phone and would not push any notifications. I followed the setup instructions and I do also have strong WiFi throughout my house. Ezviz customer support are good but can be slow to deal with over email, I sent in screenshots of the issue so email was the best approach for me. Instead of replacing I was given a coupon code to buy again for £0.99, but I forgot to click the extra coupon deal on Amazon so had to pay £11. Not a massive deal but since it was faulty I feel like I shouldn't have to pay anything (I know this sounds very Karen like). Nevertheless, the replacement has been installed for a week now and is working flawlessly. Image quality is very good, both in day and night mode and communication through the camera is good, audio is nice and clear. I have several other Ezviz IP cameras around my house so setup was similar and all cameras can be viewed from the one app which was the main reason for purchasing. The camera itself is a little on the big side, does take up a lot of door space but it's not terrible. With a modern dark coloured door it could be an eye sore I suppose. I am very happy with the camera in the end and it does have a lot of nice features so I would repurchase and recommend it to people.

Nice equivalent to ring
I chose EZVIZ as I already had some of their cameras and I like the fact that I can have them all under one storage subscription. This doorbell is very easy to use, although can be a little glitchy sometimes. The camera video quality is very good although the talkback feature when people ring the doorbell can take a while to load which can be frustrating if there is someone at the door and you aren’t home. It does run solely off WiFi so if your internet connection isn’t the best or if your WiFi goes down a lot then be prepared to not have a working doorbell. I like the chime options and overall I am happy with my purchase.

Fails on two main claims
The DB2 camera does not record every human visiting the door, - very disappointing. It is very very erratic at sending alerts to my phone, possibly only one in 10. These are serious failures, and the reason for buying it in the first place. What's the point of not seeing instantly who is at the door, or indeed any specifiic person who we know has been - eg the postman!? App setup is far far too complicated and tortuous. This product has failed to meet the requirements of the consumer rights act 2015

Purchased this a couple of months ago to catch a light night doorbell ringer. Mission accomplished! Took the video down the street to the offender's house and showed his Dad, you should have seen the look on his face. Not a happy man. I didn't want something I had to have a subscription to. This has a micro-SD card slot in the inside ringer that records video when triggered. Works great. Battery life is decent, over 2 months on one charge. No hassle recharging. I give it two thumbs up!

Ezviz needs to add the POE or ethernet connection option for this Doorbell and their Floodlight. Both of those products of EZVIZ are horrible in maintaining stable wifi connection even with a chime added or I have the Mesh Deco Wireless Router literally inside the Garage. It shows all wifi bars and good Connection on EZVIZ App yet, it would show unstable while viewing video.
