Q: How do I get rid of the strong chemical odor from being new?

We suggest washing the brace. They are machine washable, or they can be washed by hand. We recommend using a basic detergent with no additives (no dyes, no bleach, no softeners) Do not use fabric softener. Wash on the gentle cycle in warm water. Lay flat to dry, away from any heat source or direct sunlight.

The smallest available size is the 3.

Q: If I am on the line between 2 sizes should I size down or size up?

I’ve owned two of these back support braces and I love them. They do stretch out a little as the entire brace is elastic stretchy material. I would size down for extra firmer support.

Q: How do you get rid of the odor in the back support

If your referring to oder after wearing the brace...wash it! I have a delicate cycle with No Agitator in my washing machine. I work outside and yes they tend to stink after several days. If your referring to when you first purchase. Wash it. Hope this helps! Bauerfeind makes great products! We have used many different braces of their for years!
