Bought as a gift. It's magnetic so is good for portability. The board is nicely finished and the ends are numbered making it good for those learning chess from guide books. The chessmen are nicely detailed for the price.

The chess pieces are nicely carved and the magnets are strong enough, you can hold the board upside down and they stay in place. The box is light and the inside cut out storage is snug and attractive. The only thing stopping this getting a 5 star review is the top is not 100% wood. Instead it is a printed sheet with a plastic film coating that is already curling on the edges. I have used super glue to glue them back in place, hoping that holds them - although you can see the crease from where it curled. A minor point. Some edges have a small angled chamfer and some don’t (which looks odd). One of the chamfers is not even and narrows at one end. Over all I like the board, for its price. I would pay more to get something with more a premium, that was 100% wood. I just haven’t found anything that is 100% wood, folding, strong (enough) magnets and attractive internal storage.

He recibido este ajedrez y me ha sorprendido gratamente, tanto en lo que esperaba como en lo que no. Es un juego de cumple lo que andaba buscando: de madera, plegable, magnético, con dos Reinas... El paquete ha llegado en tiempo (una semana desde la compra), sin ningún desperfecto y envuelto en una bolsa estándar de Amazon. La piezas están bien definidas con un suave baño de laca brillante, vienen colocadas en unas almohadillas de material con la forma precortada (lo que impide que se muevan al cerrarlo o llevarlo de un lado para el otro) y el conjunto se ve muy agradable al tacto. El tablero puede que guste más o menos: es de madera sencilla y está impreso (no son maderas diferentes barnizadas) con un lacado protector. Cierra y abre de forma más que de forma correcta y cuando está abierto, durante el juego, se queda completamente plano. Tanto unas como el otro no desmerecen en absoluto, se conjuntan perfectamente. Si lo que buscas es un juego de ajedrez de madera, con un tamaño que permite utilizarlo para seguir partidas o aprender (el llevar marcadas las casillas ayuda a esta labor), tanto como para jugar contra otra persona, y que se puede transportar (el tamaño de 24x24 es ideal) ni demasiado pequeño como una miniatura ni demasiado grande y pesado. el magnetismo de las piezas es muy correcto y, curiosamente, he comprobado que las piezas grandes (Rey, Reina) parece que atraen mas al tablero, cosa que se agradece. Otra cosa a tener en cuenta es que tiene dos piezas más de las Reinas para cuando se necesiten en el transcurso de las partidas. Habrá otros mejores, seguramente. Para mí cumple con creces lo que andaba buscando. Un saludo

Scacchiera deludente, il materiale è di bassa qualità. Il legno superiore è stampato, non è in rilievo come sembra e inoltre se c'è luce diretta fa un riflesso fastidioso che non ti permette di giocare bene. Ho fatto il reso.
