Works great.
Been using these for years. Everyone says I make the best aged rum. I get I height quality great tasting rum that has a high ABV. So smooth you won’t know exactly how hot it is. Obviously there is much more to the distillation process but it all starts with your sugar and yeast!

Turbo Spirits
As it says in its description. This product works great and I would highly recommend it to all of those who might have its doubts.

VERY forgiving VERY strong
Awesome stuff. If you use the turbo carbon you MUST use the turbo clear or be prepared to rack your mash for the rest of your life. The Turbo Yeast is scary good. Through it in a 5 gallon bucket with 5lbs of scrumped apples and 8bs of dissolved sugar and did ZERO climate control outside in upstate New York in Oct. forgot about it for 2 weeks came back dumped in the Turbo Carbon and 48 hours later the Turbo Clear and what resulted is a surprisingly clean INCREDIBLY strong wine sitting at around 18.5% at a cost of about $1/ 750ml. No fuss, home brew wine on the cheap at it's best.

I gave it a try
Bought this to give it a try. I was interested in claims that it gave you a cleaner wash. I think it smelled really bad and the active carbon turned everything black. While the end results were fine, I did not notice any difference in color, taste, etc. So if I can't tell any difference between using it and not using it, I think I will save the money and not use it.

This is actually three separate products bundled together. Each can work on its own. My first order of this product was a batch of five of the Turbo Yeast. Every one of them started and produced excellent alcohol, although I never got quite to 20% (edit, Previous batches had a bit of residual sweetness. On my 6th batch, when it slowed down I added more water and the fermentation restarted and went to perfectly dry), perfect for distilling. I've tried with and without the carbon and don't see much difference. When wine making (but not with this yeast), I use the turbo clear product and it also works very well, every time. I've never tried to drink the raw alcohol this pack produces. But, I suspect it would be a bit harsh. When distilling one throws away the heads and tails, which gets rid of the lighter alcohols and the fusel oils. The undistilled product would contain both. Edit: I earlier reported I put the carbon in a filter hose; it polishes the finished alcohol very nicely. This is wrong. The supplied product is a wet carbon. The one I use in the filter from the same company is dry carbon. Edit 2: I have now used the wet carbon product in making a batch of 'sugar wine'. Adding the carbon to the ferment turns it black, most alarming!. However, if left long enough, most of the carbon deposits out; the remainder deposits out when the Turbo Clear is used. The result is an exceptionally clear 20% alcohol product.

Ordered twice and will definetly order again. This yeast is a really good performer, giving 53% ABV once distilled [distillation may be illegal in your area, i do not give any advice about that] It clear great but I would like to try the "Pure" to see if it clears better

Great Value This is the second time Buying. most Wine and beer making stores sell yeast for $12-$14 Having the Carbon and Clearing agent a real bonus.

I like the job it does, but it is a little pricey.
