This is great watch. It is big, but wears well and is light. Easy to set up and very durable.

If it was any more advanced, it'd be a smartwatch
The Casio GWG-2000 is almost certainly more watch than the average person needs, but it sure is fun to have on your wrist. It’s simultaneously beefy and elegant and could almost pass for a dress watch if not for its comparatively massive size. This watch is loaded with features with the star of the show being the triple sensor. I have found that the barometer and compass are both very accurate when compared to real-time NOAA data and a handheld magnetic compass. The thermometer is also dead-on accurate so long as you’re not wearing the watch where it is affected by your body heat – the manual recommends removing the watch from your wrist for 20-minutes before taking a temperature reading. The altimeter is more finicky because the altitude is estimated using air pressure which frequently changes, so you’ll need to recalibrate it to a known altitude measurement before setting out on a trip. There are the standard digital watch features like a stopwatch which can run for 24-hours, and a countdown timer which is inexplicably limited to a mere 60-minutes. You get five different alarms along with an hourly signal; however, G-Shock watches have infamously quiet sounders due to their thick cases, and the GWG-2000 is no exception. In fact, I can’t hear it beeping unless I hold it up to my ear. For less than ideal lighting conditions, there is a bright LED mounted at the six o’clock position which does an excellent job illuminating the watch face, and the lume when fully charged remains readable all night even as it dims. Solar charging continuously recharges the battery when exposed to any bright ambient light source, so you never need to worry about battery changes. And, finally, there is a world time mode for independently tracking a second timezone along with automatic atomic clock time syncing via a radio signal which I have confirmed keeps the watch accurate to within a fraction of a second. I find the GWG-2000 to be reasonably lightweight and comfortable on the wrist despite its large size. The stock strap is somewhat unyielding, but it can be replaced with a variety of aftermarket straps using a pair of inexpensive third-party adapters (I recommend JaysAndKays). The buttons are large and textured making them easy to locate and press, and the addition of a crown on the right side allows for reasonably intuitive operation given the number of features. Basically, select a mode, pull the crown outward to enable settings, use the lower left button to select the setting you wish to change, give the crown a spin to select, then press it inward to finish. The watch also features a single LCD display rather than having information spread across multiple windows, which I appreciate, and while negative displays are often difficult to read, the LCD on the GWG-2000 is bright, clear, and legible even in low light. It's not a perfect watch, but it comes close. If you need something with a clearly audible alarm, then this is probably not the watch for you. If you're fine with pretending the alarm feature doesn't exist (or you have better hearing than me), then the GWG-2000 has a lot to offer, and being a G-Shock, it's designed to take a beating that would break any other watch. Considering Casio’s recent design trends, it’s also likely to be one of their last high-end watches that doesn't require a Bluetooth connection and privacy invading phone app for full functionality, so get it while you still can. Update 2/18/2026: I ended up returning this watch because I found that the grey hour and minute hands were occasionally hard to see against the darker grey watch face. 95% of the time the watch is perfectly legible, especially in bright light, but that remaining 5% proved frustrating as I would have to study the watch for several seconds to locate the hands. The brightest thing on the watch face is the white mode indicator which is always annoyingly visible even when the hands are not. I exchanged the 1A1 model for a 1A3 which has white hands and is far more legible under all lighting conditions.

Mudmaster complete.
Absolutely beautiful watch. I’ve wanted one of these for years. It said 54mm and I expected to be bigger than my other mudmaster. It wasn’t. However, seems more secure or solid if that makes sense.

I've bought 5 watches from seller. All A+++
Love the quality, appear to be legitimate of course. A bit spendy but I've bought 4 Casios from this seller and they've all been brand new original and appear to be real not fakes or anything weird. Love this one the most which was also the most money but I've finished my Casio Pro Trek etc. collection. Lol. No more spending from me but a happy camper. I'm a watch guy and this was my 29th watch and 12th high end Casio. Gorgeous!!!! My favorite of them all

The ultimate in tough luxury
Seller was very prompt and item was packed very well. I will strongly endorse this sellers service. As far as the watch is concerned, it checks all the vital buttons. This is a set it and forget it type of item. Once set (which is very easy) it charges itself in the sun (or artificial light), every night it gets the atomic time signal via radio waves; it will adjust for DST, it monitors barometric pressure..... I could go on and on but you get the point. It is deceivingly light but strong due to the carbon fiber used in it's construction. Very comfortable and very attractive on your wrist. I have no hesitation in wearing this with whatever I happen to be wearing for the day. Still a rather expensive watch, but truly a strong value proposition.

Great watch
Quick note: Buyers beware that this watch is advertised as a Japanese version, but it is NOT. Disappointingly, the seller sent me the Middle Eastern version instead. Review: A little pricey for a Casio, but the discount helps. Nonetheless, this is a really well made quality watch though. It's robust and rugged for sure. Good features and has almost everything you would want in a rugged G-Shock, but I do wish it also has sunrise/ sunset readings, which I often refer to when I take photos during those golden hours. Besides from that, the watch is pretty great. Very premium. Very quality. I have a small wrist size at 6.5", but I personally like bigger chunkier watches, so this watch sits beautifully!
